Fairplay, you managed to rip off City.
But if anything that means other clubs will be more cautious before buying your players, seeing as Stones has been dogshit.
City have endless cash though.
We side stepped a landmine there.

 

What's CL got to do with anything?

He's the current PL top scorer, he's 23 with 5 years PL experience already under his belt and he's a Belgium International

 

The point is, you came wading in for him at the close of the window after having ****ed around with bids for weeks. The lad himself had his head turned and put in a transfer request. We refused it, and knocked back your £33m.

We got £50m a year later.

It's something Everton have done well in recent years.

 

If you get that price for him, more power to you.
But Lukaku, by all accounts, wants to play in the CL
And I dont see any European club meeting that valuation is all.

 

There's realistically only a handful who could afford him.

Arsenal, City, United and you lot.

PSG, Juventus, Real, Barca and Bayern, that's about it (excluding the Chinese and I think he'd refuse to go there)

 

I don't think Arsenal would ever stump up that kind of cash for one player.
At least not while Arsene is in charge.
But if he left, it might be a good way for the new manager to get the fans on side, by making a big buy like that, if the tight arsed Arsenal board will let him.

If anything though, the Stones thing will put people off paying inflated prices for players who are not tested at the highest level,.

 

I'm sure Lukaku will also be an instant flop as he has no CL experience.

But with Stones still in CL and FA cup I'm sure they see that as a flop

 

You reckon he's worth more than costa?

 

He's scored more goals than Costa in the last 2 years and is 5 years younger than him, so why would Costa be worth more?

 

Cos he's a better player?

 

How is he? He's scoring less goals in a better side and he's 5 years older than Lukaku.

Costa has peaked, Lukaku is years from it.

 

He will be worth what someone pays for him and if that meets the clubs valuation
