This is like the POTS award but diametrically opposite. One rule is that you'd expect better so no point being disappointed with Jerome not getting 15 goals this season as only a heavy mmeth user would have any expectation of this. My nominations Mulumbu. I was really happy when we got him on a free only to see him contribute practically nothing Ruddy. Gone from potential international class to flapping at crosses and being unable to aim a kick into a given post code. Also for playing away from home and letting his personal life affect his work Alec Neilfor not realising that we had a huge issue in defence and playing a right back at centre half. I am deliberately not mentioning Dorrans or Bassong as I expected no better from them. Any other candidates?
Agree with your nominations really. Redmond, Jarvis, Olsson all been infuriatingly inconsistent but I think I'd go with Mulumbu as the overall biggest disappointment. Seemed like we'd got a really decent premier league player, for nothing, and he's barely kicked a ball.
Not to jump on the bandwagon, but I, too, was excited when we picked up Mulumbu. When he was at WBA he was one of my favorite players to watch play.
I can understand all the nominations above Mulumbu as said because he has obviously been dross each chance he has had and can't be training well Naismith liverpool game apart has just not done anything but fall over Neil for maybe not learning or at the least learning very/too slowly, a good manager still? Maybe, a great one like I hoped? Becoming harder to believe with allot of the same mistakes repeating. At least he isn't playing the lads out of position so much now! To a lesser extent I would add Redmond to the list as I really hoped this could be a break through season for him. It's a shame Vadis has made so little impact and that Hooper has not been able to impress sufficiently again to get in the team and score the goals we so sadly lack. The entire defense also warrent a mention, individually and collectively not good enough without big Tim. and finally I'd add the board for the lack of proper organisation and investment in the summer Bah!
That we thought the nucleus of the squad that got us relegated last time would cut it again this time. Yes, they got us promoted but the thought that "togetherness" and "team spirit" would trump "quality" and "ambition" was rather naïve. On the player side it has to be Naismith and I too share in the regret that we've not seen (for whatever reason) more of Mulumbu as I regarded him at the outset as a quality addition.
I wasn't contending that he cost less than Naismith, meerly that your assertion that he cost nothing is not completely true! Come the revolution maybe it will be so with all players playing for the love of the game but I'm fairly sure Mr Mulumbu is getting paid! Bah!
Pinto as well? What the hell happened there? Another waste of money. Molumbu for doing nothing despite looking a decent signing. Vadis, except for a game changing performance against Southampton has done nothing since. We've got Ricky to come back next year to help us get out of the Championship!
Instead of disappointments, what are the positives? Rudd,Bennett,Klose,Brady,Howson,Murphy's,Toffolo,Maddison.Loza It's a start anyway
Mulumbu (couldn't get in WBA's starting eleven), Naismith (ditto with Everton), Neil (incompetent and so out of his depth), the board (same but ten fold), check my posts from from way back I predicted all this, this club is a ****ing joke. So many thought that Mulumbu, who by the way I'd never ****ing heard of until he signed for us, was a great signing, Naismith the OAP collecting his bloody pension, keep on happy clapping you fools
