London private school may let boys wear skirts please log in to view this image Image copyright Wesley Allen Image caption Some boys from a school in East Sussex wore skirts to school in hot weather last year as a protest Boys could be allowed to wear skirts at a north London private school if a plan for gender neutral uniforms comes in. Highgate School is considering mix-and-match outfits for pupils after head teachers said that growing numbers of children were questioning their gender. The school, which charges up to £6,790 a term, has also been encouraged to allow unisex toilets and open all sports to all pupils. Girls at the school can wear grey trousers, dark blue jackets and ties. But boys are not currently allowed to wear grey pleated skirts, although they would be under the new proposed dress code. "We are asking them, should it be called uniform number one and uniform number two?," said head Adam Pettitt. He said the issue of a gender neutral uniform had come up during question and answer sessions with his A-Level students. This generation of young people was really questioning the binary way people look at things, he said. "We're therefore exploring how our uniform policy could evolve to cater for those who do want to match clothing to gender, as well as those who don't."
I agree. There is now 71 gender options to choose from. I feel bad as I thought there was only 22. But seriously the hashtag #LGBT ... Doesn't the 'B' tell us how many genders there are?
I went to a pretty rough school. "Are you chewing, boy?" asked the Headmaster. "N-no, sir", I replied rather meekly. "Well, this is the worst blow job I've ever had", he said.
What is happening in this country? I wonder how Mr Toms at Christopher Wren would react if a boy turned up in skirt.
Just another reason to pack up and move to the country, anywhere away fro modern civilisation and the imbeciles who make these rules.
Nothing to do with modernity, the poor lads who go to Christs Hospital school in Sussex have been wearing a dress since the 1500's. Got a good mate who went there, says it scarred him for life.
Been there already. Maybe it was the influence of King Kurt but wearing skirts and dresses to festivals wasn't unheard of with me and my mates!
Leather kilts are still all the rage at festivals Grove all the real toughies wear kilts....and they look real good Difference is...that is their choice.
I was an Alter boy when l reached double figures an having to wear the robe soon wore off any reason to hang out at the alter and ring the bell, light candles and extinguish them, grab the wine for the priest and all that jazz. My target was to manage the plate and its contents but all the old phobies juggled that. I was so pure and innocent, that when l went to confessional, l used to make up stories otherwise l'd have nothing to say. My, how times have changed.
I'm having difficulty acclimatising to all this trans-gender stuff. Ok, you get some effeminate young boy that says he's been born in the wrong body, makes the change and fine, he lives life as a girl/woman. But when it comes to a middle aged bloke with three kids, six foot two with stubble and an adam's apple like a squash ball, and wants to be called Fenella... I still haven't got my head around Frank Maloney going AC/DC yet. He's about as feminine in a dress as Frank Bruno
1985...... I remember in grammar school some boys enjoyed wearing mascara, and wanted to know if I wanted to put some on......... I didn't even notice they had mascara on, I thought they just had deep pocketed eye sockets that made them look darker like they hadn't slept well or summin'
