Excellent summing up of our failure yesterday to convert chances to goals by Gary Gowers - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...s-are-void-but-pain-felt-north-of-the-border/. IMO, whilst I like CJ's workrate for the team, he lacks the killer touch when presented with a half chance in front of goal. <donstinhatemoticon>
Great post Welly and good to see you still posting! The Sky cameras panned around the dressing room area at Carrot Road yesterday and I had to chuckle when I saw that they have this huge image of that "Jeremy Goss moment" plastered over the wall! Like its the only thing that they have to be proud about! Poor old Budgies forever in our shadow! Oh btw Duncan Donuts we did beat Arsenal in the SF of the League Cup in 2010 at Portman Road.
Then, of course, there's the runners-up trophy to polish...you know, the one for capitulating to the mighty non league Lincoln City Good to see both you and Welly on the forum, Warky
Knew it wouldn't take long for you to start banging on about ancient history! Erm, yes, we did actually..... Dishonours even then
As a one off yesterday's result wasn't a disaster, although the team's performance wasn't great. The trouble is poor performances / results aren't a one off for us under AN.
When he first came, he turned things round from the off and built a team with momentum, ideas, purpose, desire and no little skill. The last two seasons, it's been one step forward and two and a half back! One the one hand Brentford and Florist - on the other Rotherham and Burton It (he?) just ain't good or consistent enough but where the hell is it going to change anytime soon? Interesting tweet from Superman I saw this morning:- I wonder if rival fans will be good enough to applaud us on the 15 minute mark - when our time is due?
"but we just lacked that little bit of cutting edge that we've had in most games." Has Mr Neil paying attention this season? The reason we are where we are is because we fire too many blanks, shots off target and into row Z! None of which points to a 'cutting edge' - which is why we're a pathetic 19 and 18 points off the top two places. http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/arti...rwich-city-ipswich-town-reaction-3596037.aspx
We had 23 shots, 7 of which were on target. Not great, but not rubbish either. Their keeper made some fantastic saves, including a finger-tip save of Pritchard's shot into the bottom left corner. If just one of those got past him, we'd have won. Ipswich had 4 shots, only one of which was on target. As for Jerome, he didn't have his best day shooting wise yesterday, but he does have 5 goals in his last 8 matches and 11 goals in 24 appearances which deserves some credit.
The ironic thing (if you can call it that) is that the shot which beat him was the one that he should have comfortably saved! The save from Tettey was a worldy given the power and how close it was to him. Bart is the best Keeper in this league and he has earned us countless points this season.
Yeah we were pretty poor and we offered hardly no goal threat all game. It would have been a travesty if we had held on to win but against your lot I wouldn't have cared less! If Tom Lawrence had been playing then it would have been a different story but overall satisfied with a point against a team that cost £30 odd million!!
Apparently there was trouble from moronic Towan fans after the game at the bottom of Carrow Hill. Easily fixed by allowing us to shoot anyone wearing blue!
