Don't worry, you'll probably get him for about 750k and a couple of tins of Dulux so we can give the turnstiles another lick of paint.
If the money was to be reinvested into the team I would take it, but as I doubt it would be I'd rather keep him.
It is said to be £8 million, thats Dids gone then!! As for not being worth it, if Ross Mcormack is worth £11 million I would say Dids is worth 15!! Only Smith and Berra to go now, then we will have zero quality at the club!!
Christ !!!!!!!!!!! Snap their hands off, anything over £3.5 mill take the money and run to the hill! Good player, but worth absolutely nowhere near that. Sure, we could go down the " If ross McCormack is worth this....... " and " if Luke Shaw is worth that ( re Cressy ) " but a player is only worth what a club is prepared to pay. If Leicester can chuck in a decent one year loan I would have to say this is a very very good deal. Sure, I don't like to see our best players go and I want us to do well, but we usually get absolutely sod all for a sale so this would represent very good business.
Really Westy, the money would not be reinvested and even if it was, mick would waste it on more Skuse, Tabb and Nouble type players! Personally think this is bad news for town fans, the last bit of quality gone out of the team!!
Now if it was for 8 million and all the money was going to MM but the deal was, he had to spend it on decent attack minded players, then great, the deal would be right for town!! Noooooo, not Chris Wood!!!!!!!!!!!! He is pants!!!!!!!!
£8million is a pretty hefty sum for what is a good championship player... and easily our best player so would be bitterly disappointed to see him go, but the money would be handy. Though I would imagine it would be the usual 2quid up front with the rest as add ons so I'm not overly comfortable with it if it happens As for Chris Wood, I'd take him in a heartbeat. But if Andy King was a possibility I'd rather have him. Easily the best attacking CM we could possibly get.
Chris Wood and Nigel Pearson have both said he is staying Wood and the club both rejected a move to Wolves a few weeks back Andy King wont be leaving either as he has been one of our best players so far. We have no interest in selling anyone according to Nigel Pearson
£8m is a lot of money at this level, but I personally wouldn't take it at this moment in time. There are only a few days left of the transfer window and, by selling off our best player (admittedly for a lot of cash), we're still leaving ourselves short up front and desperately scrambling around to make replacements, that's assuming the money is even reinvested in the squad, which I doubt most of it would be. Anyway, teams will know we're desperate for reinforcements and will hike up their asking price in the wake of the £8m deal. I'd rather keep McGoldrick for the first half of the season and, assuming he continues to score and make an impact, look to sell him for a potentially higher fee in January with the replacements already lined up. The worst case scenario is selling our best player, failing to replace or reinvest the money into the squad and then be left with a real shortage of quality up front. We'd seriously struggle without his goals and creativity. At this point in time, is that a risk we'd like to take?
Surprised if we would end up with more than £3 million. If it turns out to be true that's our season even more fckued and I'll think about seeking a refund on my season ticket.
Anyone guess who is gonna play up top today, as didz is out with a dead leg!! Murphy and Bajner i guess!!
Agree I used to get dead legs at school and they last about ten minutes. Sell him bring back 'Sweet Marriot' and build for next season.
