We are probably better off just keeping de Gea, it would be a shame to move the lad on when he is desperate to stay
Apparently Degea is not too bothered and will not be asking for a transfer. United should resist the transfer in that case. We'll see whether Madrid and their press lackey Marca will force the issue. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/may/30/manchester-united-david-de-gea-real-madrid Otherwise why be the richest club in the world...apparently? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...er-United-richest-club-ahead-Real-Madrid.html
Well given Ederson's fee of £43m I can't see De Gea going for less than £70m. It would mean an almost certain wage cut for De Gea as well. They're better off going for Lloris, for much less and he'd probably be happy with the salary on offer at Real.
Is looking more and more like Real won't be going after De Gea this season - is a relief as it means you won't be coming after Kasper...
Romero has proved himself as an exceptional keeper who can slot in for De Gea at any point in the season. I suspect he will also get more PL and Cup games next year should we progress in the CL.
Unless De Gea puts in a transfer request, or openly says he's unhappy with the clubs decision to reject Real Madrids offer. Then we shouldn't even entertain accepting any offers for him, regardless of how much they are. I'm sure they will come back with a few bigger offers, but we are a rich club with plenty of money, so we don't need to sell.
United have denied that they've received a bid anyhow, Real are playing games again. Time for United to start unsettling their players, and no better time than on the eve of the CL final for me.
RM always seem to do this just as DDG joins up with the Spanish national squad. Obviously RM have less of a presence right now with the CL final looming but there are still enough there to have an influence on the lad. I suspect that he will stay to see how we fare in the CL - if I'm wrong, and he goes, we're going to get a shed load of money for him if £60m is the starting offer.
Thought I'd bump this up as there are so many column inches in the papers here this morning especially as there have been several 'sources' indicating that he has asked for a move. can't believe that personally, especially not with the new signings and the prospect of CL football - but who would we get as replacement, or would you be happy if we stuck with Romero and the Portuguese lad that JM seems so keen on giving game time to on the tour..
We should just put a silly asking price on De Gea and see if they match it. Basically play the same game they did with Morata. If he does go then I've got no problem with Romero playing. When Romero has played he's done well, and hasn't let us down. We could go out and spend loads of money on a replacement, and they could be a calamity like Man City found out last season. So it's not an easy position to fill.
