Oh dear! Seeing the last line I think that's me without a ticket from SFC. I'll start looking elsewhere, I'm wary of buying non-existent tickets online and hate paying touts. In the past, many years ago for a Rolling Stones concert in London I waiting until the concert was starting then offered a tout face value and in we went. Don't know it the same approach would work at Wembley. Hospitality is another route to go, I rather like prawn sandwiches, might have to dress up a bit though. As with many others on this site any means of getting a ticket now to be investigated any ideas/tips gratefully received. Last option is to fly over for the match from Holland travel up with ticket holding family and watch in a pub near the ground. In the '70s I worked at J Ray McDermott's office top of Wembley way, in those days tickets were accessible and affordable for all manner of events.
I bet some of the initial tranche of tickets will still be there when they start selling the next lot at lunchtime....everyone still in with a chance. Keep the faith.
It has worked out pretty well in my opinion. When all tickets have sold it should be the case that anyone who has either been to 3 away games or 2 home games has got a ticket if they want one. If you haven't managed 3 away or 2 home then you can't really expect to be going. Apart from the occasional exceptions, such as geography, work/family or money, if you don't go to at least 2 games a year you cant be that keen anyway
Got my two. Practically none left by the looks of things. I wonder how quickly the 600 or so will sell later - as someone earlier in the thread has suggested it's likely that most of those who have 3 away tickets have already acquired tickets anyway.
Be grateful that we haven't had to go into a ballot like the United fans....even a season ticket wouldn't guarantee a ticket. Their first ballot was for ST holders who had been to every home cup game!
I did as suggested further up the thread and it worked a treat so thankyou!! Was on from 8:30 and didn't refresh, put me in a 3 minute queue and then just selected the best available seat. It's magic you knowoo. Tadic and Manalooooo
Being a United fan, or a fan of any other huge club for that matter, may have its benefits in terms of, you know, winning stuff. But being a fan of little old southamtpon does have its benefits too. One being that most fans can actually get tickets for big matches. Another being that in the vary rare occasions we do get to a cup final it means so much more to us!
I haven't got the email confirmation yet so I'm too scared to go fully bananas (plus I'm at work...but they've already had to put up with me dancing around the office).
It's funny, I was playing football last night and one of the guys ran jogged past me seeing my shirt and said "we are gunna do you in the cup big time", I replied that in the cup anything can happen and he said " I don't really care if we lose because we will still have more trophies than you'll ever have in your existence". This was someone who I hadn't seen before. If it had been a regular at footy then I'd have some banter but what he said just made he laugh and think "what a prick".
I have looked at a couple of United forums and this game isn't getting any coverage....I do understand because they have other fish to fry...however, this is a final and they have a long way to go in the FA and Europa Cups. Basically we deserve it more.
They went fast....it looked like they were going slower as most had got theirs....I guess some people with only a couple of home tickets bought rushed and got a membership.
Just!!! I would have been safe for later (I've done 3 away) but my flatmate would have been hard out of luck. He owes me a or two for my efforts
