We hit the post 2 or 3 times, had another 2 or 3 really clear cut chances and but for Courtios could have had another couple too.

2-1 flattered them really .

 

Congratulations on your win today lads, well deserved on the day and it could have been a lot bigger margin.
I am a little surprised that none of you have mentioned Welbecks performance, I thought he was brilliant today and caused the Chelsea defence all kinds of problems both when attacking and defending from the front.

 

Welbeck was immense today. In that first half particularly, he ran rings around Chelsea and had them blinded in the headlights.

The whole team was fantastic today, so many good performances all over the pitch.

 

Nice touch from Cech, running straight onto the pitch to congratulate Ospina (who was also immense btw)

I must admit at the point where Wenger took Welbz off I was saying to the dog "should have taken Ramsey off, he's gone quiet", 2 mins later he scored

I'm not sure that playing so badly today is a good sign for Chelsea for next season, you'll be alright though.

 

I saw people were down on a few players today, but I couldn't see anyone who had a bad performance. Sanchez won MoM but to be honest there were at least 3 other candidates you could make a good case for. For some reason holding was getting some stick on the web, I couldn't see him do much wrong tbh.

Ramsey, Xhaka, Mertesacker, Ozil and Bellerin were first rate as well. if one of Ozil's or Bellerin's efforts had gone in they might easily have got the MoM.

 

I was out yesterday so didn't see the match but having seen the highlights why did the first goal stand? Was he played back on side?

 

The lino originally flagged for Ramsey being offside, but then consulted with the ref who said that he wasn't interfering with play. There was more controversy over the handball leading up to the goal imo. We got a bit lucky with that, but overall we fully deserved to win the game.

 

Mertesacker and Holding were both ****ing brilliant yesterday.

Also was good to see Ozil put in a real shift.

 

So next year do we agree on:
a back 3 of Holding Koz and Mustafi with back up of Gabriel Monreal and BFG
wing backs Bellerin and Ox with new signing and Monreal as back up
midfield Ozil Xhaka Ramsey Santi Elneny
forwards Sanchez Giroud Welbeck and Walcott

we do need a couple of signings and hold in to Sanchez

we will sell Wilshere Gibbs and Coq

 

Definitely need to stick with the 3-4-3. We've been immense since we changed to that formation.
Agree with the players out, I'd also like to see us bring in another creative MF player, as we badly missed Santi this season.
Keeping Sanchez is an absolute must.

 

Xhaka and Aaron bossing that midfield was something I didn't expect. Take that attitude forward and there's no reason you can't win the league. That's assuming you keep the formation and, more importantly, the key players.

F*cking glorious day though. Anyone who didn't enjoy that game is dead inside. Chelsea and Spuds are exempt obviously. They're already dead inside..

When a goal like that gets given against the run of play, then I think you can moan about it, but Chelsea were living a charmed life anyway and although they got a little unlucky with the decision, they got plenty of luck elsewhere to make up for it. I'd have more sympathy if that was our only chance to score in the first half.

Goodness knows that has happened against us many times in the past.

 

Completely agree. Given that we hit the post 3 or 4 times and had another 3 or 4 clear cut chances to score. It would have been a travesty if we hadn't of won that game.
