Former Leeds defender Patrick Kisnorbo is reportedly a target for Crystal Palace.

The centre-back is available on a free transfer after his Elland Road contract expired and is rumoured to be of interest to Eagles boss Dougie Freedman.

The Australian has been hit with an Achilles injury that has plagued him since March 2010. Indeed, a substitute appearance in Leeds' last game of the season against QPR was his only outing last campaign.

Leeds are not against renewing the defender's contract, but they want to see him in action during pre-season before committing to a new deal.

Palace could steal a march by making a concrete offer before Simon Grayson gets an opportunity to run the rule over Kisnorbo.

Leeds United have staved off interest in Patrick Kisnorbo by signing the popular defender to a new two-year contract.

Kisnorbo put pen to paper ahead of United’s pre-season tour of Scotland, quelling suggestions that a rival Championship team would step in and acquire his signature.

Gus Poyet’s Brighton were one of the clubs attracted by Kisnorbo’s potential availability, and Crystal Palace recently emerged as another outfit intent on recruiting him
