It's a funny old game though. And, besides, Villa don't need to beat Brighton for us to win the title.
Reasons why Villa will beat Brighton: 1) Villa beating the possible champions, or at least a side on 92 points, will boost their self-belief that they'll join us after next season 2) Bruce has slammed his players for getting beat today (by relegation fodder). They need to perform on the last game to avoid being jettisoned in the summer 3) Bruce couldn't countenance another defeat to end their season with managerial questions being asked 4) Brighton are well into holiday complacency mode 5) Brighton's party has been and gone - they've missed it. 6) Oh yes, nearly forgot - we've got Clark and Haydon back in the team to get that win or draw, and do our bit. I feel personally that our last two games has put us in a better position of getting three points - we've got the momentum.
After splashing a Championship record of £50 Mill on players this season - you should be the ones in holiday mode with the title in the bag. It'll be a difficult season for you next season if you don't iron out some of the inconsistency you've shown this season. Good luck to you though!
We spent less that every club in that division if you take into account sales out as well as sales in. Cannot have one without the other.
Doesn't matter how many times you explain to people we lost Krul, Cisse, Sissoko, Wij, Janmaat, coloccini, de Jong, saivet, Riviere, Townsend, Thauvin and, due to previous money mismanagement, had no defence, they still bore us with this spending nonsense.
I think you're getting mixed up with £30 million PROFIT. Villa spend a LOT more than us - without the profit
You're a classic example of someone who lectures others on something they know NOTHING about themselves. Read up first before you start making moronic claims of "What your mates said"
I can't see Brighton getting three negative results on the spin right after clinching promotion. I think we'll win so just have to hope Villa show up/make it difficult for them.
Yes. We made a huge profit at the beginning of the season then spent nothing in January. I'd be surprised if we haven't made the biggest profit on players of any team in that league.
They've had worse runs both this season and last season, there's the "on the holidays" argument, but that doesn't really hold water as they still have the title to play for. Of all the 3 teams of Norwich, Bristol C and Villa, I would have said Villa was the toughest challenge, and despite being out of the play off chase, the Villa players still have a lot to prove and need to stake a claim for being able to stay next season. And Lewis Dunk's probably injured for Brighton I think. Yes they've gotta be the favourites for the title right now, but I think this one could be interesting.
Pressure's on them though. I think the "Have to win this to clinch the title" mindset is much harder to manage than the "Go for it - you've nothing to lose and everything to gain" That being said, this is Newcastle we're talking about, so anything could happen.
