Can I ask, do you go to church? I had a mate who was desperate for me to believe in alien life forms and I found his answer very interesting
Well I don't know about that, it would require a lot of different types of research to determine what the condition actually was. But certainly some exhibited traits that many other people don't. One was a pretty adept remote viewer, which I found fascinating. As I said, in terms of personality, there wasn't much of a link other than the empathy and I don't know if that's something on a genetic level or whether it's simply emotional. I would have thought there's some sort of genetic marker that would predetermine such events.
No, I'm not remotely religious. Nor do I insist that other people believe in any of my own beliefs, it's something I'm vehemently against. If I've come across as such on this thread I do apologise. I do, however, believe that there is room in the world for faith and people are free to pursue anything of that nature provided that it does not cause any kind of harm to any other human being.
The Christian faith is all about belief in alien life forms, testament evidence, first hand experience, written down by those who witnessed events that could only be described as supernatural. I find it odd that many people like yourself do not believe. Virtually every religion is based on similar beliefs, why dismiss faith so easily and still be disappointed when others look at a picture and only see shadow and reflections.
I really don't want to get this thread shut down, if you wanna discuss it, feel free to PM me as it sounds like you have some interesting thoughts on this.
Processes in the brain are electromagnetic and as such will generate a magnetic field, but it's not strong enough to magnetise surrounding metals such as a spoon. Remote viewing in itself is related to out of body experiences, something that is not paranormal and is something you can train yourself to do. I can't do it as a prerequisite is to clear your mind, something I genuinely can not do, but still fascinating. It still won't allow you to view something outside of which you have no knowledge. Genetic markers predict a great deal about who you are and I'd bet there is a genetic trait that links the people you speak to.
I'd love to learn how to do it. Yeah, it's not like a google Earth for your mind, but it's a useful tool to be able to use if you can master it.
The research I mentioned earlier claimed that many of those that suffered waking paralysis, were able to refine it and experience out of body experiences.
It is possible to control your dreams, there are a few simple techniques you can learn, it helps maximise thought processes and the time spent asleep.
There's a great chapter on it in Richard Wiseman's Paranormality. Brilliant book. https://www.amazon.com/Paranormality-Why-what-isnt-there/dp/0956875653
