Parras , At the time we had to do two years National service and three years in the reserve, I transfered from the Engineers to the Parras for the extra two and sixpence a day, I was in for the money not the glory, I did my reserve training at Burt Terrace in Gateshead we did our jumps all around the North East except for the annual camps which were at different places around the UK , some very good memories and very good mates I did not have a poncy uniform to show you like Comm but then again when I was in uniform he was still in liquid form !!!!!!! Did you know it was only NATO that forced us to wear a reserve, before that they just painted over you P.S I have since posting spoke to a mate of mine and he reminded me we in fact volunteered to do our reserve time in the Territorial Army
nearly the same as me mate, joined royal engineers, passed combat engineering and loads of others too many to mention, then did what my dad wanted join the paras but we had our own regiment attached to 2 para, loved it
