How come we had to pay compensation to Hearts when we signed Paterson? Didn't think we got any payment for Ledley or Matthews when they went to celtic as they went to a club under a different governing body. How come that doesn't apply the other way round?
Ledley got away for free because of the cross-border thing - this article explains it.
