    He has clearly made mistakes but i think saying he has lost the plot is a bit over the top.

    Not that debate again! Stoke? A team that quite happily plays Rory Delap (despite my extraordinary love of his throws) will never (in the foreseeable future) finish above Arsenal. Similar situation with Sunderland, Fulham etc. End of.

    <laugh> This guy is clearly trying to wind us up.

    My version:
    Szczesny>Gomes
    Sagna>Walker
    Vermaelen<King (but he hardly ever plays for you anyway)
    Mertesacker>Dawson
    Santos=Ekotto
    Song<Parker
    Wilshire<Modric
    Gervinho>Lennon
    Arshavin<Bale
    Arteta<VDV
    RvP>Adebayor

    But after all that I still feel we are better ;)

    If he was trying to wind you lot up he'd have put it on the Arsenal board.

    The rest are barely debateable, but FFS, RVP = Adebayor? Are you ****ing mental?

    Sure, the Adebayor of 2007-08, possibly. But that's like saying Gary Lineker's as good as Lionel Messi.

    <ok>

    Having said that, I do agree that his team is a complete joke.

    I totally disagree with that comment. It's not objective, but the heavily biased view of a Gooner fan. Yes, Adebayor can be "difficult", however, if Harry can manage and motivate him properly, there is little doubt in my mind that he has one of the best strikers in the world, there.
    As somebody else mentioned, he was getting into the Real side ahead of Benzema and Higuain - you don't do that if you're not a bit useful.
    RVP is very occasionally a good striker. But, I don't think you'll find any Real Madrids queueing up for his services.

  9. Optimistic in places (as a Spurs fan, aren't I entitled to be optimistic about my team?), but a COMPLETE joke?

    That's a harsh assessment, I think.

    And yes, if I had intended merely to wind-up Gooners I would have written directly to them on their board (thank you for your support SF's Top 10). What is with the undue sensitivity on this site? Is this place a cover site for Father's Against Child Support?

    I think it's fair to say that Wilshere and Arshavin are no longer considered better than Modric and Bale.
    I could be wrong, though.

  14. You did well to remember this thread, Little Luke! I'd forgotten all about it.

    Say what you will about the old HIAG, but he did produce an incredible amount of prescient threads. No doubt he had a rakish twinkle in his eye when he created this little gem!

    Jackson Browne wrote a rather good song for Arsene

    Oh won't you stay
    Just a little bit longer
    Oh please please please stay
    say you will.

    2, 3 or 4 years? Five would be a good idea.
