Hello, I have just seen on the BBC website that Cody has hinted he wants to stay. This would be amazing. Your views comment below. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/12881095.stm
I think the league that both teams are in next season will play a big part! Firstly, if Gilingham don't make it through the play-offs (or make the autos) then you may find league one teams (and potentially struggling championship teams) sniffing around the leagues third highest scorer, especially if he's likely to be available on loan. Would Cody turn down the chance to play regular championship football for league 2? Equally, Norwich's situation is crucial. If they get promoted, then the cost of paying Cody's wages will be fairly negligible, and they might want to keep a bright young starlet one of theirs. I can imagine one of Jackson and Wilbraham being for sale this summer, which would boost Cody up the order too. If Norwich stay in the championship, then they may ask for a decent sum for Cody, or equally decide that he deserves more of a chance in the first team - Grant Holt came from league 2 and he's worked wonders at Norwich. And with other teams sniffing about, potentially with higher budgets than Gilingham, I think you may struggle to keep hold of him. Saying that though, if his heart is really set on you guys, well then you'll have yourself an excellent player, who a prem side will probably come sniffing around in a couple of years and have him for a couple of mil, and us Norwich fans will moan we should have kept hold of him. Good luck for the rest of the season, and I hope he keeps banging them in for you!
Really good comment mate Rep for that, I hope he has his heart set on us, It would work out considering his roots are not far away from us, as he is from essex's close to us and having played for Dartford 30 minutes away from us knew the area before joining us mate.
Would I like him yes, will we get him no. It will all come down to money, and for us that's rarer than chickens teeth.
