But the most important question is.... will this takeover mean we can afford to hand out bigger flags at games? Is it possible we can now make the step up from A4 sized flags to A3 ?? WE NEED ANSWERS.
As I said in the thee thread (why do we need another?) it sounds like she's sticking around regardless, talking of partnerships and futures together
Oh bugger it seems to be happening Glad KL is keeping a stake in the club for when our new Chinese owners run out of money or interest so that she can step in to save us again The Saints big dipper ride takes another turn
Exactly....my fear was a complete sale, because then who knows what would happen. And I like the idea that she has some sentimental attachment to us....as well as a financial interest. Hopefully, this will be a way for us to achieve even more....though to be honest, as a long time Saints fan, I am already living the dream.
If Kat keeps the majority, chuffed. If she doesn't, a little concerned but far better than an outright sale. Either way, a bit of a relief.
A bit confused at the reaction to this tbh, when I read it my main take away was that she didn't really say anything. Yeh it implies she ain't going now but also if say she sold 85% of the club she really doesn't have much influence anymore. I don't have an opinion on this as there's no way to know what the new owners will be like. Also it's very easy to say 'best interest of club's but again that doesn't guarantee anything. Maybe I'm just cynical who knows?
I'd like to think that Kat wouldn't have chosen Lander to get into bed with if they hadn't given some major assurances that the Liebherr Legacy (not you TLL) would be protected. She'll still have a presence at board meetings to make her voice heard, if she doesn't like the direction the club is heading. The thing I'm more concerned about is what happens to the reported £200m they are putting in. Will Katharina leave it in the club as investment money or will she realise a large part of it as equity? I'd like some assurances on that!
If KL is giving up part of SFC, she will surely take some money out. However, the idea is for us to move on, so pretty sure we will see some improvements and development. I am no business expert (or even novice), perhaps she is putting up SFC as her share of a joint venture and no money will be taken out. Have to wait and see.
Landers sports Development. Maybe it's a partnership with plans to development the stadium and the surrounding area around St Mary's, a bit like the mock up that was doing the rounds a few years ago. It is how the company made their money in the first place. Just a thought.(probably way off)
Yeh that's kinda what I'm getting at. The statement was positive in that it didn't say "yesss finally sold this thing see ya!" But there's still a lot more details to come out. Not having a go at the club because it's clear they need to be professional while this all on going so can't really say too much. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
No idea what any of this means, but no reason not to take the public statement at face value. It's a necessarily vague statement because it has to be, legally. But Frau Liebherr has earned the right to be trusted.
I'm pleased that KL thought enough of us to feel we deserved reassurance rather than being left to wallow in conjecture. She may have become aware of how easily Saints fans can panic.
