Bugger politics. Let's start enjoying ourselves. Let's use this thread for posting anything funny or interesting you stumble across. Today I stumbled on this short clip from Parkie. It's basically David Bowie talking about Yorkshire ... http://theskiptonpress.co.uk/david-bowie-talks-yorkshire-roots-video/ Having watched the clip, I realised I'd never watched the interview, so dug it out on Youtube. If you get the time, have a watch. Most entertaining. I'd also forgotten how good Parkie was. It never occurred to me that the interviews would be on Youtube, so I'm going to have a root through it. Enjoy!
I bet anyone who watches this & says the hairs on the back of their necks didnt stand up is a corpse. Wait to see Prince smash it up, awesome
Never heard that before, Doc. Excellent seems like such an understatement. Like Davy, I've never really got Prince. Guess I was put off by the rest of his nonsense. But boy, he can play. And in classic Hendrix thumb-over style too - no wonder he sounds so like him. Here's one you've prolly seen. Never get tired of it. What a drummer!
Saw Jeff Healey play that at the Corn Exchange Cambridge many years ago, that was spine tingling too!
one of my favourite drum solos is Dance with the devil although there are a lot better nowadays I still love it
Jock have seen Santana 3 times now always a fav of mine, also saw Bowie 4 times even with Mick Ronson, so later guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Earl Slick were awesome as Bowie got it regarding guitarists. David Gilmour playing with Prince is also brilliant. Prince I have seen 4 times and even though hes better known for funk shyte stuff he is in the top 4 best guitarists of all time as can be seen in that video. Watch the Youtube film from the half time show at the Superbowl its fkg unbelievable. Seen Jeff Healey too plus Clapton, Slash etc but the best around now Prince's dead in Joe Bonamassa
Oddly enough, seen him a few times myself. Even got tickets #'s 1&2 for the Town & Country, Leeds. RIP
And no mention of Jimmy Page? Wow! Check out Kenny Wayne Shepherd's first album, Ledbetter Heights. Think he was 16 when he made it. His dad was a big producer, so by the age of 16 he had played with the likes of BB King etc.
