William Hardcastle @Willhardcastle Good one for this weeks #hcafc clip on BT sports Premier League Tonight show. Who is city's most underrated ever player? Whats your thoughts? This has turned out to be harder than I thought, I thought we didn't play Geo as much as we should have, but you'd hardly call him underrated. Rosenior seems a popular choice so far.
These players were underatted for me: Damien Delaney, Sam Ricketts, Ryan France, Liam Rosenior, Richard Hinds, Matty Fryatt
Ricketts, France and Rosenior have all got several mentions. Was Fryatt really underrated, I thought most of us thought he was our best striker at the time?
I always thought people were like 'We've got no one better' whereas I always thought Fryatt was class.
Malcolm Lord. Far more talented than he was ever given credit for. He filled the gaps and allowed the likes of Houghton and Butler to supply the creativity for Waggy and Chilton.
In the box he was probably one of our most skillful forwards. He could turn most centre backs inside out despite not being a very quick player. If he did have proper pace he would have had a career in the premier league.
Ashbee's a great shout. I've always maintained getting rid of Fryatt was the wrong thing to do as well.
Ashbee is surely very highly respected and regarded now? I know at the time he was criminally underrated but most people recognise what he did for the team now.
Depends how you interpret the question. With hindsight you can say Jon Walters. If your names Terry Dolan then it's Wayne Jacobs. The **** him.
Walters was good for us, he didn't score enough, but he was still a good player, he didn't leave because we didn't rate him, he was released on compassionate grounds.
