Bristol City vs Sheff Wed TUE, 31 Jan 2017 19:45 Ashton Gate Bristol City midfielder Gary O'Neil is expected to be available after recovering from illness. But the Robins still have problems at full-back, with Joe Bryan, Mark Little and Adam Matthews all still injured. Good news that Sheffield Wednesday are without striker Steven Fletcher and defender Sam Hutchinson after they were sent off in their 2-1 defeat by Brighton also Gary Hooper is doubtful. There has never been a goalless draw between these teams in any of the previous 27 games at Ashton Gate in all competitions. The Owls' last clean sheet at Ashton Gate in a league game came in May 1921 - they have conceded in 18 consecutive games since then. 15 of Bristol City's 16 league defeats this season have come by a one goal margin - the exception was a 2-0 loss to Brighton in November. Sheffield Wednesday have only failed to score in one of their last 13 away league games, but they've only scored more than once on occasion (13 goals in total).
An observation .. L D W . L W D . L D W . W L D the last 12 away results for Sheff Wed aaargh! bit like the exam question what comes next in the sequence! latest result is first one lost to Brighton 2-1

I thought it was a good game. Loved the way when Tomlin scored made a massive point of patting the badge in a way to make us all get together. Of course some will believe its part of his contract and gets extra pies for doing that. Man of the match for me even though it was his pass that led to their second was Hegelar looks like we've got a great bargain there as last time I saw him he played central defence but class in midfield.
A very good point against a good side. I suspect the LJ knockers were hoping for another last minute lapse so they could be on here kicking LJ whilst he's down. We need to follow up with a win over Rotherham now!
And I'm sure the happy clappers will be on here in no time telling us the boy king is one win away from being in contention for the Arsenal job he is oh so talented. Only thing I was impressed about tonight was hanging on for the draw under really grotty conditions. Think we lucked out a bit they were missing 3 of their top 5 players. We will win at Rotherham but then I don't know where our next one will come from after that.
Well, the first of the magic 4 points has been achieved. No way am I a 'happy clapper' (whatever that is) but pleased with a point - I had written off tonight as a certain defeat from my bedroom here in Swindon. Great to see Tomlin on the scoresheet too - his illness must be over. So, we get an unexpected point against a top side. Great. Now it's a completely different challenge; an EXPECTED 3 points against the whipping boys. COYR (whoever is manager)
Thought it was hares, and tortoises tonight. Sheff Weds were top quality going forward,so quick,pass,pass,pass.move,move,move. Only Brighton were better. We are so slow breaking forward. Yes a point gained tonight, that is a monster game Saturday lose and he must go. However anybody expecting points in Feb,very surprised if we get 1 or 2.
What is it with Junior's set ups ? Tomlin out wide again till they score, and then he personally saves Junior a h/t roasting from the crowd. In the second half we get the luckiest deflection to stop the rot. We'll beat Rotherham but we've got the wrong man at the helm. Lansdown is our King Canute.
Take it you don't really watch the game then? You probably spent too much time spitting in LJ's direction. If you noticed Tomlin switched with the others throughout the game so not always out on the wing. Bet you cried tonight because your mate LJ is staying a bit longer
Tomlin out wide doesn't work, because he doesn't defend he leaves poor old Mark Little isolated and then he has to cope with 2/3 players running at him by himself and then gets slated by the crowd for being ****, even though it's mostly true
Man really? I don't mean to pick on you, but I feel like this post is relating to people like me. I honestly couldn't tell you one person on this board who is a 'happy clapper', who is satisfied with the situation as it is, and who is 100% behind LJ, so why make it up
Thought we did all right tonight against a good side. Their passing, accuracy, speed and possession was better than ours and they closed players down better. It was clear to see the difference. However, what pleased me was that both times we went behind, we didn't let our heads go down and got that bit of luck with the 2nd goal that has deserted us lately. Maybe you just make your own, Also, we didn't fall apart in the last 10 minutes and looked confident. Took a friend along who was in the Atyeo who was more disappointed with a draw that I was and said how much they missed the suspended Hutchinson. As LJ said, this will mean nothing without a win on Saturday. Maybe our season will now start to turn for the better
