If you ever needed it reaffirming how inept the management of put football club is, here's the proof... Manchester City have had an £18 million bid for Johnnie Evans rejected, they want £30 million and it seems thats not enough to put Citie off...!!! Evans is 29. Forgetting contract lengths, we sold Harry Maguire for £12 million (based on his performances for Leicester thus far they'd make a huge profit if they were to sell him today).. and Harry is 24!!! add to that, this club now say they want £20 million for Clucas who isn't in the same parish as Maguire as a footballer... inept is being kind to the ****ers who hold the keys to this club.
Maguire was in his last year, Evans isn't and bizarrely, they're offering him £100k a week for 4 years to stay at Albion.
Probably can afford to pay that because a replacement with wages will cost even more. Players are in the driving seat in this day and age, overpriced and overpaid but that's the way it is. Mad
Karren Brady said on Sky Sport's The Debate last night that the average transfer cost in the Premier League will be 100 million by the year 2025.
No chance. The league is utterly dependent on Sky money and I'm not convinced the rights will continue increasing the way they have.
Presumably The Baggies have resigned themselves to losing Evans, they've just bid £15m for Spurs centre back Kevin Wimmer.
I suspect she'll know about business in football than any of us. The rights to the PL will keep going up. BT and Sky are locked in a bidding contest for more rights and they now have to deal with Netflix and Amazon Prime (who have just taken loads of Sky's tennis rights) wanting in on the PL too.
The problem is you now have multiple platforms bidding for television rights which is pushing up prices.
Maguire was a much better defender than Gibson last season. £20m + Harry went too early, he could have done better than Leicester I reckon.
Yeah but in return the winner has to sell it to us and at what price will we all turn round and tell em to f off???
Leicester are a better option than West Brom and Harry was in his last year, Gibson's only one year into a five year deal, bound to command a bigger fee.
