You think that we can replace Eldin with like for like? and Henriksen is as good as Huddlestone? not even similar players Markovic & Ranocchia - who is as good as them? Niasse would have done well in the Championship
Ok. Nice to hear someone feeling very positive. Hope it's not misguided. By the way, it's a forum. People are allowed to have different opinions. Don't get upset if mine differs with yours.
Really don't get the hype around Jak, he was an average keeper, got a chance in last half of last season and did well, brilliant personality and gave his all, but nothing amazing skills wise, just a cult figure. Henricksen and Huddlestone are different players, but Stewart is Hudds replacement. Younger quicker, better in the tackle, room for development, only down side is his passing is not as sharp Rocco and Markovic where very good, but we're always going to go if we were relegated Niasse would be excellent in this division, though will he drop, and what about wages? I am not massively fussed about the outgoings, all were expecting. My concern is lack if incoming players
Hoping bowen gets alot of gametime this season, looks like he has something could be his breakout season
while a lot of what you said is fine with me I think you are totally wrong about Jak he has turned into a fantastic shot stopper sensible owners would get incoming before outgoings otherwise, while there is a small risk of not being able to sell, it is better than other clubs knowing you are desperate to buy
From what Slutsky said after Bristol Rovers 'he was the most important player on the pitch' and seeing him myself yesterday for the full game, he's definitely going to be a first team player this coming season. As I said during last night's match, his development has made him equivalent to a big new signing for us.
Completely agree with you, great shot stopper (sometimes he over did the diving) but flaps at crosses at times, and didn't dominate his area. Sensible owners would be a novelty, I am clinging to to hope that we have not made many signings yet due to us going for really good players and are working at them dropping a division (very wishful thinking)
To be fair I can understand the sales. We aren't going to be able to get anything for Marshall or McGregor, so Jak has to go. It's just we need some signings and we need to be more proactive.
I still think Jak is the worst out of the 3 senior keepers we had. Marshall had a bad start but he spent a decade being an absolutely fantastic goalkeeper, that talent doesn't just disappear. Hopefully he's in a better state of mind now.
2 more CBs and 2 Left Backs - one senior one a promising kid on loan - would do me for defensive cover. We have Lenihan and Aina at RB. Then the squad looks decent. Hopefully Kent on loan gives us a good wide option, and IF Grosicki goes we need to reinvest to get a good left wing in, but Bowen looking promising out wide too.
What position is Bowen playing? Is he RW or centre forward? I've been really impressed with him - taken his goals very well.
Watching the game last night Steve McDonald looked very uninterested, much like Jelavic did when we came down last time. Time for him to move on if you ask me if he doesnt want to play get rid
Then I'd say we need: Kent, LW, LB, LB, CB, CB. If we bring in Kent to play LW with Bowen RW then we need another RW as well with a LW back up. I suspect we'll be busy from now to the end - sounds like we're in for Shotton - so hopefully we can get the squad in good shape for the first game and pray for no injuries as that would **** with us.
