There's other clubs interested too apparently. I'd move him on, let him go on a free and see if any interested club will pick up the final year of his contract, or part settle.

I don't. The players directly employ them to do the work that the players want, therefore the blame is squarely in the players' courts.

Not always, there are agents out there who actively seek better offers from other clubs without their clients knowledge.

I remember reading a piece on sky sports from a player (can't remember which player, for some reason remember Anelka been mentioned too), who said his agent had told him the club were looking to sell him. The agent then told him another club wanted him, and offered X amount.
The play had a meeting with the director who refused to meet the club's wages and as such left.
Couple of years later the manager of the player slagged him off in the press, the player and manager had words and it turned out the agent had told the new club his client was looking to leave (which he wasnt ), they were interested and offered a contract, then the agent used this offer to renegotiate (win win for agent).

All parties gave a part to play in the circus of transfers.

I have heard conflicting accounts ref Tymon, all from reliable people:
A club from London spoke to his advisor and offered a potential big contract, agent took this to the club who said no way and withdrew their previous offer

Or

The club made an offer then changed their minds and reduced it

My guess is its somewhere in between the two that has actually happened

Only the player the player, hus agent, and the board will truly know how this came about, and I wouldn't trust the board or agent to give an honest account! !

 

Player still employs him, if an agent is doing this then sack them.

 

Warnock said at Cardiff when asked about signing him, he said something along the lines 'we could afford 3-4 players on the wages he's on'.
