What makes you say that? He was a regular starter in the Prem for them for 6+ years. And before you mention Villa's awful defence last season, the reason for that was that they put their faith in a bunch of lazy wasters in Lescott and Richards, and didn't play Clark enough. Look at the CDs Villa have got now, Clark's far better than them and I'm sure most fans would have him back in a flash.
Remarkable how bad villa was, considering they had Clarke and Ghana Gueye who is the 2nd best DM in the premier league.
Aye,how bad where we when we kept Taylor on our books?Villa had umpteen managers since Clark made his debut and not one of them got rid of him, just saying.
Truth is Taylot was lucky he was injured so much, had he not been he would have been found out far sooner. He simply wasnt a central defender, I thought the best i ever saw him play was a makeshift right back. Taylor had no sense of positioning, all he did was last ditch defender, all the time. He could have probably been an ok defensive championship right back, if coached right.
Nearly two if laddo hadn't scored his 3rd goal in 44 games. I bet Clarke was gutted he didn't get a double.
If he chipped in with a goal or two from set pieces he'd be decent all round but can he replicate these performances in the top flight ? I guess we'll find out
Good and valid point. But surely this applies to every single team promoted ? Some players Championship will be their level. Some will improve - Vardy at Leicester a classic example. Who would have said he'd end up what he did ? I can't see any of his like at Newcastle at present, but believe Clark will improve, Yedlin's OK, and others will be brought in Rafa's signing haven't all been good either. In fact half of them very poor, similar to Carr's colossal expensive errors.
