Has died aged 90, a rock and roll legend and great character. To me up there with Les paul and Jimi Hendrix.

Chuck was a great influence on us Merseybeat Bands of the 60's, Beatles included, we still play many of his songs, Roll Over Beethoven, Johnny Be Goode, Sweet Little 16 etc.

Chuck Berry is/was a true legend and I dare bet that many of the great bands/artists that followed him will say they were influenced by him.

They're all lining up on Twitter to pay their respects.

    And rightfully so!

It may take many a year to appreciate the full influence he had on those who followed him.

Went to a concert of his mid 70s - he was so pissed he fell over twice doing the duck walk, couldn't finish any songs and staggered off after 30mins - complete rip off, I'm still pi@@ed off about it!!
