Great project for a young ambitious manager in my opinion. Any speculation about what budget is pure guess work. In my eyes Short has no option but speculate to accumulate. I think we'll be amongst the biggest spenders behind Boro only possibly
He does seem to have a hate boner for Sunderland for some reason. Haven't seen what he said but I'm sure we can hire someone who is fully aware of the situation without him sticking his beak in. Everyone knows we're skint anyway.
Can't have people under illusions with this appointment. If Mcinnes needs people to brief him about out problems I don't want him anyway.
He's right, but why do all these has beens get asked their opinion on us. Saggy chops recently and a few days ago, can't remember who now, used to be a fullback, possibly of Chelsea, being radio interviewed - just no connection to us, or knowledge of our club. So why? Don't think I've ever heard an Safc player, past or present, talking about the situation at another club
For all the mess this club of ours is it's a massive job for someone who has the balls and determination for it. Anyone who is put off by the current state doesn't deserve a job at our club, or any club of stature. The right manager and a bit of faith and patience, the new gaffer can be an absolute idol at one of the best supported clubs in the land. If I relate this to myself I've moved jobs in the past to big companies having a **** time, then you get the satisfaction, respect and value of making **** happen. Whoever comes in will be a brave ****er, on a win/win. They fail, 'that club is deep in the ****', they succeed 'what an achievement to sail the Atlantic with no ****ing sails'. I'm keen on Monk. It's growing on me.
Weather this man knows something His opinions I s not what I was pointing out I'm not saying he the man But what has he got to say that we will listen to
SAFC is a bloody good job for someone with the balls to take on the problems. Work them out and you're at the helm of a club which gets 43,000 bums on seats whilst playing some of the worst football in Prem history. Great ground, great Academy and the kudos of doing something that O'Neill, Bruce, Poyet and Moyes couldn't. Sutton can't do jack ****, so he's a pundit. 'Nuff said...
See below as to why I think it's exactly the wrong time to be giving nobodies whom we don't owe anything too an experimental project to help develop their career. Agreed. Hardest job of all that's available imo, no doubt. Needs blend of experience, adaptability, cool head and big balls. It doesn't need youthfull ambitions or a Jurassic out of touch has beens. It needs balance imo. Too much on the line. Bear in mind it's quite possible the budget is going to be very tight until certain debts are paid. I'd be happy with Monk. Would have liked a bit more experience but he's hardly a novice.
Well said. Monk obviously has the balls as working for Cellino has been absolute Managerial suicide for so many and he did a cracking job there and left on his own terms.
So right ts a privilege to be the Sunderland Manager or play here - for all the reasons you put. It'll be challenging, never dull and massive adulation if successful - might even be a song ( not by the fat lady though) - feels we have been promoted to the championship
