It does raise an interesting question though, do the PL have the authority to refuse a club on the basis of owners who are already in place? I suspect not. Hopefully Reading don't come up anyway so we won't find out. Completely irrelevant to our potential take over though.
The problem is mainly that no one is buying yesterday's news printed on trees any more and they desperately need some Facebook-ready clickbait to keep enough advertising pennies rolling in while sacking as many staff as they can get away with.
Everytime this thread gets bumped I get excited for a potential update! Alas, my wait continues (As it probably will until the end of the season).
You should know that no less a giant of the media world than the Wrexham Evening Leader are now running a story that this policy is likely to effect Saints
Can't see why unless 'our buyers' are one and the same. It's not being Chinese that is the problem surely, it's something specific to these people. They are not the same, are they?
What are those things on rowboats? Rowlocks, pronounced "rollocks". I was thinking something similar about this "story".
Don't even begin to place little steam venting smileys on your message and then another to say sorry. You knew perfectly well what you were doing. As I have done just here.
Yes, that is a full takeover of the remaining bit of ACM. They'd owned a large minority stake before.
It's OK. They can hardly ship AC Milan to China. Well, OK, I suppose they could, a la Oakland/LA Raiders, who dance about the NFL like fidgets. But it wouldn't serve the Chinese at all to do it.
Not enthusiastic about the Chinese hiding money in over seas investments, certainly not happy about them doing it with my football club. If this is poor, I prefer it.
You know what.? Ultimately, I would prefer a billionaire British owner to Katharina Liebherr. But if we waited for one this club would be dead and gone. Katharina doesn't want the sole millstone of SFC anymore. That's quite understandable. The Chinese want a piece of everything. Who are we to deny them. It comes down to priorities in the end. You want a Rupert Lowe and very possibly end up like Blackpool, or do you want a club that eventually possibly almost everybody will want to own.?
Standing still has it dangers, plunging into the darkness also carries risk. Think I'd be somewhere inbetween.......unless that's called falling!
