Fevriul, you are in the firing line, or so it seems. Still disagree with you on the other item about one of the Spurs nicknames but I guess we will never agree so that is it!!
No problem, I like when people can agree to disagree and not turn it in to a 15 page thread of childish taunts. Plus I tend to call em the spuds and I love them, 30 years of hurt at Stamford bridge , how could I not love em
I want a draw at OT today. So that our match against Spuds won't be dead rubber. We should end their chances.
Your wish for a draw came true, the Spuds' title chase could now be ended this evening. My only regret is that I didn't get a £tenner on Leicester at 5,000-1 at the beginning of the season. We blew up, then Man City blew up, Man Utd were never in it, and Arsenal bottled it as per usual. The title was the Spuds' for the taking and they've let the 'mighty' Leicester in.
Good luck tonight hope you tonk the Spuds for Leicester! I love the way your players have been honest and have said they want to beat Spurs to end their title hopes - it's what all Chelsea fans would want. I am a Gooner and can understand why Arsenal have a rivalry with Spurs as we are near neighbours (that's as near to our major trophy record that they get), but what is the history of the rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs ? Do Spurs somehow think they are close in major trophy wins to you coz that ain't true ! is it to do with the off field fun of the 70s and 80s as I can't remember them even having a firm (can you inagine all those Chris a Waddle mullets running at you). So here in peace and would like to know your rivalry history as tonight I will be supporting Chelsea on behalf of Leicester
Not really sure. I think it stems from probably a few things.... 1) They have a terrible record against us in the last 25 years. That has improved somewhat in the last say, 3 or 4 years, from a Spurs perspective but its still pretty bad. 2) They always saw themselves as rivals with Arsenal for No. 1 club in London, our recent successes have kinda moved them further back down the pecking order in terms of London clubs. 3) Hand in hand with that is that in the last couple years, we have overtaken their trophy haul and knocked them down to 6th most successful English club, trophy wise. 4) It was almost them. Roman nearly bought Spurs before he decided on Chelsea, so maybe there is some bitterness there
Cheers Bod. Spurs hatred then is just pure jealousy like theirs for us. They so bang on that we haven't won a League title in 12 years yet ignore the fact that they haven't won it in over 50 years !
Once Londons top club when they used jumpers for goal posts way back when goalkeepers smoked a pipe in goal. Fleeting success then mediocrity. They've had more grounds than Starbucks. Now run by two shysters who value money over success which is why they envy large successful clubs like Chelsea & Arsenal. Over achieved this season and expect the usual slump once Danny boy sells the family silver again.
Last day St Totterings day usual spud slump, Wenger may have 99 problems but finishing above the spuds isn't one of them.
Just read that cfc has been fined 100,000 more than spurs, despite them getting 10 yellows and their player getting a 6 game ban for eye gouging. The fa truly beggars belief at times!
