Emma Hayes' reputation seems to be able to attract the best talent from anywhere in the World. The squad today bares no resemblance to the mostly home grown one Matt Beard had. The Chelsea Ladies youth programme is still going strong. In the past we'd see the best promoted to the first team, many others join over clubs and not leave football, but now only the best of the best get through, just ask Hanna Blundell!

Man City have just won the league and the difference was really the two games with Chelsea. City can also afford the best and I think after recent CLFC signings they are going to have to respond.

Crystal Dunn at 24 years old, in the prime of her career, has to be similar to Messi when he was 24 joining the men's team.

I know you guys are mainly saying 'er wot, who? so wot.', but these are major signings considering we already have Karen Carney, Gemma Davidson, Hedvig Lindahl, Fran Kirby. Ana Borges and the best midfielder in this country right now Ji So Yun. Crystal Dunn at 24 years old in the prime of her career has to be similar to Messi when he was 24 joining the men's team.

Hardly ever get to see the ladies matches here. I do have Chelsea TV, so I will make a point to watch some matches. My 7 year old granddaughter plays in her local team, and I watch every match with the Spud son in law. Like watching a swarm of ants chase a runaway ball. But the ladies who organise the kids are passionate about the game, and one has a daughter in our National team. She happens to be a Chelsea fan, and knows more than I do about the Club.
So count me as a fan of the womens game.
