For £30m I'd be really tempted - Drinkwater can't play without Kante so let's bring in someone that can. If he stays I hope he makes me eat my words.
please log in to view this image The official Chelsea website had this up for a short amount of time... http://www.football.london/chelsea-...rinkwater-chelsea-transfer-confirmed-13541978
I posted this on another site yesterday and a Chelsea fan responded "that was not Chelsea's real twitter account. appears to be a fake account. Someone's trying to be a smart ass. Negotiations are still ongoing though" Still expect it to be confirmed soon though
Lots of reports saying Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request this evening, no credible sources but looks ominous now.
Oh dear Danny https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp....ater-signs-five-year-deal-with-leicester-city https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ransfer-request-Leicester-football-gossip/amp Complete bullshit comments by him in the first article then!
Numerous reports now confirming he has handed in transfer request Chelsea fans in meltdown with such things as "he is a poor mans Scott Parker" "he is worth 10-15m but 30+m for a bench warmer is ludicrous" Not really bothered as already stated in other threads. Just hope we don't lose Vardy which doesn't look like fully thankfully
If DD is the only player we lose by the deadline then I can take that. There doesn't seem anything solid re Kasper or Vardy and Mahrez things had quietened down but now Man U and Chelsea in. I can't see us letting DD and Mahrez follow Kante there though. I think the ship sailed with Adrien Silva but would love to see that we've picked him up to replace DD. Along with Gibson or Smalling
Drinky will have been influenced by the speculation so I've no real problem with him weighing it all up and deciding to leave. In reality he has been very inconsistent for us ... a good season interspersed with poor ones - but he kept it going when it really mattered, for which he will have my eternal gratitude. Will we miss him more than Vardy, Mahrez or Kante? ... no, not in my opinion ... Players move on ... that's life ... just hope we have someone targeted already ... I'd sell and try and get William Carvalho or Renato Sanchez
Is on BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41093997 As I said before, he was 2 year ago he was great alongside Kante, last year he was ****e without him so would be no big loss in the long run - one day to find a replacement though...
Would like to see a more creative midfielder come in rather than an out and out DM like Carvalho. Imo Iborra/James are Drinkwaters replacements, but we still don't have our Sigurdsson. Oxlade-Chamberlain seems to want to play down the middle ....
We are only linked with Krychowiak from PSG - is a DM though. Says a lot about Shakespeares tactics that we are just after defensive minded players.
Stick a massive price on Drinkwater's head and don't let him go to Chelsea for a penny less. They still owe us quite a few million for Kante!!
