A woman made a rather unpleasant discovery when she tucked into her newly bought pistachio nuts. Emily Jane, from Cambridge, bought the pistachios from Waitrose Cambridge on Wednesday and was looking forward to eating them as her snack. But when she cracked it open, she was shocked to find a large insect inside. Pictures show the creepy bug-like object seeping out of the nuts. I asked the girl behind the counter if they hadn't any of those curled shaped nuts "Cashew" she exclaimed I said "bless you" and suggested she cover her mouth next time!
They are naval orange worm and it is because the nuts were left too long before harvesting. You have to harvest the whole tree as soon has possible to prevent the larvae, the chances are minimum then of this happening but your always going to get one I actually really did know that
