0-2. Same old ****e. A chance wasted to try one or two youngsters in midfield. Just sell our club.

79 min before we have our first shot on target - to a League 2 team.

Surely the end for Slade tonight.

2 Charlton players bump into each other, Lennon goes down, no-one appeals, the ref gives us a penalty, which predictably we miss.

We'll soon be out of this cup, free to concentrate on relegation.

The match reports had a familiar ring to them. Lots of huff & puff and the trademark sideways passing from Captain Croft. Ajose anonymous even against League 2 opposition - Slade really has done a job on him, he scored 28 goals last season.

Only 53% possession at home to Crawley and they naturally had more shots on goal.

Plenty for Slade to chew over alongside his 4 bacon rolls this morning.

28 goals with a fairly decent midfield. He's got Holmes and no one else in there.

He spent his post match conference trying to talk about Aribo. He's such a poor manager.

Unfortunately were the club that not only hired Fraeye, but gave him more than 10 games. Slade will probably have the month of October.

We really have had some of the worst managers (head coach) known to exist. Whereas Carol was the ultimate loser, Slade is just dreadful and dour in every way.

Just watched Slade on the player. Depressing. "There is no doubt we are not in a good place right now". Platitudes, again.

Stick to the basics, you fat tw*t.

Pick your best side, which means Lookman, Holmes and Magennis start in attacking positions in every league game.

when he signed crofts and foley, it was assumed they would be the foil to two exciting wingers in Lookman and Holmes. Astonishing to think Lookman would largely be ignored for JJ.

Then there is the Ajose conundrum. Was he signed before or after slades appointment?

The answer to that is that Slade wanted Ajose and he was his no.1 target. He also claimed we had fought off competition from Championship clubs to sign him, and that he had sold the vision of Charlton to the lad <laugh>

How strange then that such an experienced plodder ....sorry....manager ... has absolutely no idea how to get the best out of Ajose's strengths.

Ajose signing was such an exciting prospect, especially seeing the previous two seasons his name pop up almost every week on Soccer Saturday. Have all our strikers been bad, post-Kermogant?

Also funny as Ajose said this weekend the he never considered a Championship club as didn't want to be 3rd choice.

It's turning in to awful business, and you can't blame Ajose for that. He's a limited striker, but he needs the ball in the box to stand a chance. Slade has to take responsibility as 1) he seemingly doesn't do the research when signing players, and 2) failed to address the midfield in a way that would help his near £1m striker.

Our long ball game doesn't suit Ajose considering he's about 5 ft 5
I would think that he would suit through balls and running in behind and no-one in CM has the vision to play them
Slade stuck with Foley/Crofts/Jacko and Ulvestad in CM who show discipline and keep things tight and but little else.
Unfortunately for Slade its gone badly wrong

Pure speculation, but I wonder how the players took the remark about slade saying they could use protests as an easy way out.

Didn't even follow updates for this one as I was flying overnight to Japan. It shouldn't have even been an issue but we lost to league 2 opposition with a half decent team out. Slade his now slid into Alan Pardew territory with both results and post match interviews. It's a wretched situation.
As for Ajose. For me strikers thrive on the service they get. Pumping long high balls is never going to work with this guy and if Russ was half a manager, he'd have known that after we played Waalwijk. We are now nicely positioned to add another sacking to the list. If Slade cannot turn around 1-0 against Rochdale, I'm certain he won't arrest our current slide. Anyone got Jose Riga's number?
