Match postponed - Charlton a laughing stock on social media. Despite Meire claiming to have quote "fixed the pitch" they failed to hire a boiler on Thursday to run hot water through the pipes that had been laid.

Feel for the Scunny fans.

Will be interesting to hear the twats over on ITTV defend Meire for this one.

 

Robinson asked GS to accidently leave the pitch uncovered so he doesn't have to play 'Johnson is a cvnt' he's hoping that Bauer will be fit for next game

 

Thought this may occur once we had the news of our defensive problems. Also good with Magennis out. Not saying we have done this deliberately but maybe we haven't tried too hard to get it on.
Happy with this. Means that there are some proper pros at the club making footballing decisions off the pitch.

Pi55ed off with this, especially since we've actually installed undersoil heating. OK we've got injuries, but so have Scunthorpe.

 

The ticket office confessed as early as Thursday the match might not go ahead as they wouldn't pay the costs to ensure the match would go ahead.

 

They'll say it's a great decision. The same guys who slagged Powell off for "getting away with it" during and after 'Doncaster-gate'.

 

All the Lookman and Fox money and they come out with this crap?

 

I'll confess, it's crafty but smart. I had no plans to attend so perhaps that's why I'm nonchalant regarding it - but as Nick points out, very harsh on the scunthorpe fans.

 

It'stotal bollox. The game could have gone ahead but the club decided not to spend the money. Must have been Roland's decision, wonder what advice he was given?

Just shows how far we have fallen, that we have to delibaretly get a game called off again Scunthorpe due to a few injuries. They are in bad form + it's an extra game to fit in somewhere.

It's official- Head Groundsman Nathan Chapman says the undersoil heating is very expensive to run, and the pipes were only installed in case we got into the premier league. Which won't happen in a club with no ambition. A bit of joined-up thinking needed.

The CEO has made a t1t of herself yet again. All those PR fees squandered, as she sanctions that laughable statement saying they only laid the undersoil pipes as a precaution in case we ever got in the Premier League. Who writes this stuff

 

The club admitted it on Thursday to fans calling up for tickets. Rick is very good at saying he heard from sources, after events occur. Wish it would stop.

 

To a certain extent, this has shamefully gone in our favor - we have a long injury list and lots of unfit players so I imagine we are happier with the postponement than Scunthorpe. PL54 was on ITTV saying how great this was as lots of Voice of the Valley's will be unsold. What he idiotically omitted that the matchday programs will also be out of date for this fixture when it gets played, and a midweek gate will be a lot lower that the saturday one, and it's not as if our gates are anything other that awfull. I have to admit that the idea of fitting undersoil heating pipes but omitting the boiler sounds the typically daft cost cutting we have come to expect. I've read a few people saying we don't need it outside the Prem, but if you have the installation, why not finish it and use it? Today has cost the club money.
There are also a few voices on CL claiming we were aiming for this postponement since thursday. If so, that is pathetic, and shows the depths we are plumbing under Duchatalet. Great squad when a coupel of injuries leaves us running scared of Scunthorpe.
