    I'll complete this at lunchtime, dare I say that the Club can currently not organise a p1ss up in a brewery... a bit embarrassing...

    Let's start, in the opening 10 minutes we went 2-0 up and it should have been 3-0 and could have been 4-0, it was like Barca against Ipswich U11's out there..... the ball didn't get out of the Ipswich half for the first 11 minutes. Then Ipswich slowly got into the game mainly as their #4 demanded the ball all the time and he was a good little player. Middle of the second half was quite even with both teams trying to use pacey forwards against slower defenders. after about 30 mins Ipswich won a bit of a needless corner and a deep corner to the back post led to a unmarked player with an easy header (2-1) ... this seemed to spur us into action again and soon after a perfect defence splitting ball led to an easy tap in under the advancing keeper (3-1).

    Then the silliness began... two minutes before H/T another through ball for Charlton and the Ipswich Right Back came across to cover and clipped the Charlton box ... freekick ... RB sent off. The Ref told him he had to go to dressing room but it was locked.. he spent about 2/3 minutes trying to get in with no luck .... then half time ... rest of Ipswich team go to dressing room ... still locked ... Ref goes to his dressing room.. locked! By this time the Charlton lads were happily sipping the tea and eating their oranges .... it must have taken about 5 minutes to get somebody to look for dressing room keys and then another 5 minutes to find them ... what a shambles!

    After half time the Ipswich players came on the pitch to warm up, then the ref and lino's came out ..... then nothing .... the Charlton players must have been 5 to 10 minutes late on the pitch and then insisted to upset the Ipswich players even more by insisting on doing their full warm up routine! It was all rather embarrassing.

    Second half, perhaps the late arrival on the pitch has affected the boys but they have lost interest in attacking football except for long ball from halfway line? A lot of sideways passing around the halfway line then an attempted long ball into the box. Problem is that the Ipswich #6 has got his defence organised and we fail to create any clear cut chances.

    At half time Ipswich bring on a speedy right winger and with their pacey centre forward they start to cause panic in our back line... half way through the second half a quick break down the Ipswich right and a cut back ball and it's 3-2. Charlton's back line now getting a bit jittery (even against 10 men) due to the pace of the Ipswich counter attacks and sure enough after another 10 minutes an almost carbon copy the Ipswich's second goal leads to their equaliser 3-3.

    As all teams do, Ipswich seem content with a draw and try to see the game out which leads to a last 10 minutes of constant Charlton possession. 90 minutes over and about the seventh minute of extra time and Ipswich concede a corner, they were not at all happy about it but Charlton were in a rush to get it taken.... corner to middle of pen box about 6 yards out directly onto the head of a Charlton player 4-3.. Ipswich kicked off, one pass back and the ref blew for full time

    Ipswich were gutted as they couldn't see where the best part of 8 minutes overtime came from.

    Charlton players -
    #3 - very good attacking fullback
    #7 - had a very good game so Ipswich just kicked him!
    #10 - started the first 10 minutes like Rashford almost unplayable, then faded but had a good final 15 minutes

    Other players were OK but those three stood out. It was cold! especially for the Ipswich fan in T-shirt and shorts <laugh>

    <cheers>
