    Date: Saturday, 15th October 2016
    Kick Off: 3:00pm
    Venue: The Valley

After a period of respite from C.A.R.D, to give manager Russell Slade some time to get acclimatised to the team and the club, poor results has lead for hostilities against absent owner to start again. This Saturday we see a joint protests as our opponents Coventry City are having issues with their owners, Sisu, which has seen a proposal for discussion in Westminster. A question that I have is how can such instances occur if the FA has a supposed fit and proper test? Whilst matters off the pitch could see disruption from any sets of fans, this Saturday will no doubt be a day that Miere hopes will come and go quickly. Onto footballing matters and with one win from eight games has seen us fall to the lowly heights of 18th in the SkyBet League One, having taken only 8 points from a potential 24 given that all of the games played have been against winnable opponents. Looking at some of our more advanced statistics we have one of the highest shots on target per game and line share of the possession but despite this is failing to result in wins for Russell Slade.

    The Opposition
The Sky Blues themselves have been having major issues with their own owners, and over recent years have seen troubling and turbulent times. They currently find themselves bottom of the SkyBet League One with only one win this season, which saw one of the first managerial exits of the season after parting company with Tony Mowbray. Currently in their first team squad they have three former Addicks, consisting of Kyle Reid, Marvin Sordell and Marcus Tudgay. Caretaker Manager, Mark Venus, is surely hoping to get something out of this game against an out of form and struggling Charlton team.

    Current Form

    **based on previous six matches
Looking at form Coventry hold the most recent win, beating Port Vale to a 0 - 2 away from the Rico Arena. Given that Charlton are coming back from the international break, this could be the incentive to see Coventry to register their second win of the season, which will see them on level points with us.

    Head-to-Head Record
    Screen Shot 2016-10-13 at 13.54.30.png
Win ratio has been fairly even between the Addicks and the Sky Blues. This is the first game between the two since April 2009, which during that season saw us lose 1 - 2 at The Valley, our solitary goal coming from Deon Burton converting a penalty. Out of the last six encounters, going all the way back to the Premiership in 2000, we have seen four draws and a win a piece.

    Club Updates

    Team Lineup
This should be a game in which we need to play two strikers, but I can see Russel Slade approaching with caution, and maybe looking to either sub early or not start players who were on international duty. I would in reality see:

    Odds
    FullSizeRender.jpeg
The bookies seem to be giving us the home advantage, despite our shortcomings with poor squad depth and lack of players that we can bring on; they no doubt are seeing something that the fans are not, potentially being the bigger club in the league, mixed with the turmoil going on at Coventry, we are getting the benefit of the doubt to win.

    Game 12 Fixtures

    Outcome
Both teams are out of form, and unable to capitalise on wins. I can see this as a cautious game from both sets of managers, which will no doubt end in a 1 - 1 draw, with us again throwing away the lead.
The more pertinent question is, "will this game finish?" Needless to say #COYA #COYR
    #ROLANDOUT #MIEREOUT

So KN rates this as a 'tough game'? Be hard to pinpoint an easy one for us these days. I've gone for a skyblues win as I simply don't believe Brussel knows what he is doing these days. He may yet suprise the home faithfull, but why wait until now?

Of course it's a tough game! We're f***ing useless, that's why. Every game is tough if you can't score and your defense is porous.

It just sounds like last season. "They're a good team"

Why can't we ever get a manager who'll be saying in his press interview: "we're going to try to win, might not work, but we're going to try."

In Roland's world a manager's number one priority is covering his arse.

Not really a good time to be a football fan in honesty, unless you're a plastic or glory hunter.

Or an armchair fan. Unfortunately there are a lot more of these than there are of us, which is why television is king.:emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0126-nerd:

Live Television is dying a slow painful death itself. It's all about on demand and streaming. Not surprising that TV deals are getting more and more, what with audiences shrinking.

    Tomorrow's game is irrelevant.

We cannot & will not get promoted with Russell Slade & this motley group of players.

I hope Coventry scores first & it then kicks off.

See you all in the Lower West <cheers>

I'm planning on dressing up as a killer clown for this one...

... but where can I procure a Russell Slade mask at this late stage?
