Lucky we have what Richard Murray calls "a sensible owner"
Hopefully an owner who has the good sense to get out

A financially stable club with premier league ambitions was relegated to league 1 with a loss of 13.5m. That is hilarious.

I might pop over to ITTV, just to see how they dress this good news up.

Read the article. It was spent on wages, managers and signings intended to keep us in The Championship. ****ing stupid if you ask me. If they kept Kermorgant, and half the players they sold in the first place, they'd probably not have seen this.

Lets face it, the people they're talking about are:
    • Birdshit
    • Ba
    • Cebellos
    • Kashi
    • Johnson
    • Fanni
    • Watt
    • Vetokele
    • Reza
    • Moussa
    • Sarr
And the totally inept Luzon, Fraeye and Riga. If they actually backed Powell properly and didn't start acting like complete c***s, they'd not have been in this situation.

It also looks like the forecast debt to Staprix is approaching the £60m mark, giving some credibility to the claim that Duchatelet wants silly money to get out. He will need silly money because he has made such an utter shambles of it.

How is Sue Parkes & the Apologists going to explain this set of disastrous figures ? Simple according to ITTV - it's the boycotters fault, for staying away <laugh><laugh>

    Genuine question

Is Duchatelet really that wealthy that he can afford to spunk these sums of money on something he is clearly sh1t at running ?

    I just don't get it

In 2014 Charlton were 4 points below the relegation line, with 4 games in hand, when Jose Riga came in.

In 2016 Charlton were 3 points below the relegation line, with 0 games in hand, when Jose Riga arrived for the second time.
Riga had 20 games to recover that 3 point deficit.
His failure to achieve anything, aside from (eventually) preventing us getting slaughtered 4-0 or worse every week speaks more about his ability than his 'rescue' of Charlton from a false position two seasons earlier.
It also speaks clearly of what had become of our squad and our ability to compete in the Championship during that time.

Clubs get relegated, I accept that. It's part of the game of course.
But our relegation was utterly needless and completely self-inflicted.
Everything to do with the footballing side - from the appointment of coach after coach with no experience of battling in the EFL, the recruitment of players based on a spotty nerd playing with his computer, the inability of the CEO even to make sense, let alone say anything useful or helpful...
Nothing less than a total disaster.

Like one of those creaking Carry On movies from the mid seventies (when they were long past their best). A cameo from a miserable looking Sid James as Roland Duchatelet, Bernard Bresslaw stealing the show as Richard Murray, poor old Jim Dale doing his best as Johnnie Jackson, Kenneth Connor as Tony Keohane, Kenneth Williams as Guy Luzon, Charles Hawtrey as Karel Fraeye and guest star Elke Sommer as Katrien Meire.
Laughable, if it wasn't happening to our Club.

Now the financial cost of the 2015-16 slap-stick comedy marathon is revealed - as ugly as the true cost, which we have all been feeling for about 15 months now.

    Time for a sequel anyone?
Carry On Up the Creek without a paddle.
or Carry On Down the Leagues...

Lardi, also remember the first time round Riga kept SCP's backroom staff on board which must have helped him greatly. The second time round any backroom staff with knowledge of the Club had left.

Great post Lardiman. Only thing I disagree with is Sid James, he is my hero.

He was a great guy, with that fantastic laugh. But Sid could also play grumpy characters really well too.
I can just imagine him sitting behind his desk in Belgium, having a proper rant as only Sid could, as his busty secretary (Joan Simms) tells him what a balls-up Meire has just made of the latest free lunch in SE7...

3rd post in. Reams says the stayaways contributed. LOL. Like that was anything like the disaster that the signings and managers have been.

Did the boycotters sign Naby Sarr?
Did the boycotters install a Fans sofa?
Did the boycotters play House music in Crossbars on match days?
Did the boycotters appoint Karel Fraeye & Thomas Driesen ?
