In the past few days I've heard a couple of radio programmes where it has been mentioned Leicester may make another bid for Charlie in January. They were the only club that put in a bid in the summer and with the prospect of Champion's League football a definite reality, Charlie may find them an attractive proposition if an offer is accepted. It will test everyone's resolve to the max but you wouldn't blame him if he went...
Austin seemed quite categorical that he was going to see out his contract and the club can't force him to take a move in January even if they wanted to. We have a decent chance of making the play-offs, so it probably makes sense from both sides for him to stay put until the summer. You're right, though, Leicester could be a good fit.
Charlie is in a win-win situation. My take is he is off in the summer, probably knows the team his joining too. As painful as it is to lose him, I don't begrudge him a move, he has been brilliant for us
I'd say he will go in January. Not worth his while staying with a mid-table Championship side when he could be playing in the PL. If we get a few £££ for him at this stage of his contract, we will be doing well.
I'd say, I don't have clue, whether he goes in January, stays until summer, or resigns another contract with us. One of those.... I think ??? Not sure ??
I'm prepared to believe that Charlie is a man of his word and will stay until the summer as he stated on live TV.
Whenever he goes, we're f c uked, because no one else in the team wants to take the responsibility for scoring
I hope and believe that he intends to stay the season. But it may be the Club will want to sell him January to bring in some Cash when they can, especially if our Promotion chances are slender.
I was going to make a decisive comment on this topic but now l'm not so sure. As QPR fans, we should be firm in our thoughts but l'm neither here nor there at the moment. Just hope we don't get no fence sitters on whether Charlie will stay or go.
Austin would be guaranteed a start at Leicester too, as they play two up front and he could play alongside Vardy!
The (potential) saving grace for us is that he is probably very well settled in London. His young child will almost certainly be in a nursery for part of the week and the prospect of moving lock, stock and barrel at this time just might not appeal to his family. But as LF says, if an offer comes in from one of the real big boys, all bets are off. I wouldn't begrudge him a big move... one of the few players in recent years who has always given 100% to the club and conducted himself impeccably.
I just hope he stays until the end of the season. No team would want to play us in the playoffs with him in our team.
I'd expect us to bring in a prolific League One striker in January given JFH's knowledge of that division. Josh Windass from Accrington Stanley is the most likely target. At the age of 21 he is already a 'goal machine.'
999's, I hadn't considered this as another good reason for appointing JFH, but you may be on to something with this. If he wants to sign some young players from those divisions I will be very pleased. I wonder what he knows about the goalscoring right back at Wycombe with the name of Michael Harriman?
It would be perfect for both him and them He might see it as a late chance for an England spot with Vardy
