Oh, how dreadful. Sadly, these tragedies occur from time to time. I seem to remember all the players representing an African country, whose name escapes, all perished in a similar fashion. RIP
It is horrendous all round doesn't matter who they were a tragic accident and a tragic loss of life, my heart goes out to all who were taken away and their families left behind.
Munich 1958. I remember it like it was yesterday. The football world went into mourning. Regardless of which team you supported, every football follower was familiar with those magnificent Busby Babes. We all mourned together. The aftermath of the disaster saw many Clubs' loaning players to United so they could fulfill their fixtures. There was less hatred around in those days.
The first thing that came to my mind when I heard this was Munich and the Manu crash, so very sad, terrible news for the family and friends. RIP Chapecoense......
I was guessing it was Zambia. I took up residence in Gambia in early 1993, but it seems like only yesterday that the plane went down. There's an election tomorrow. What price Jammeh holding on to his fiefdom ? I've got some horror stories in my locker about him and his regime. Do you follow the politics of all the African countries ?
not too closely Lib,there also an election in Ghana in a week's time. I'm not sure wether to be proud or embarrassed about how we make such a fuss in Ghana that we can have a change of Government via democratic election without the outbreak of trouble!! As for Jammeh, I seem to remember some draconian views on homosexuality but I'm guessing that would be the tip of a rather large iceberg?
One of Jammeh's more heinous crimes. A bit close to home for you. https://www.modernghana.com/news/364428/1/we-butchered-44-ghanaians.html
Mistakes happen , but there are mistakes that should never happen and fueling a passenger plane is one of them . If it's true that the plane wasn't gassed up ...there might be a possibility it wasn't an accident IMO
You here of planes not having enough fuel here. I read some time ago pilots were saying an accident was waiting to happen, that plans get fuelled just for the flight nothing is filed for the "just in case event" Some of the usual low cost airlines have done this, you know they one's paddy's lot and the orange ones. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...tN-nAjQFq2laCnS3g&sig2=eBl07kABf9si0VeS92FRYQ
