Or, he believes that Spurs will go places in the next couple of years and wants to stay around to be part of it.
Unlike your dozy owners who let your best players go into the ladt 18 months of their contracts...great bit of planning
Luis Suarez signed a new contract 6 months before he left Liverpool. its out of loyalty, so the selling club can get maximum value for the player.
Yes, of course. Bale wasn't exactly out of contract either. But why would Lloris sign and make getting a move more difficult, if that is his plan. I agree it doesn't mean he'll definitely stay, but it does make it more likely.
I love that we are thought of as being **** but you lot cream yourselves over Kane, Lloris, Dele, Rose, Walker, Vertongen, Toby and Pochettino all leaving us You are top of the league and yet this is what makes your day
This ^ Lloris is in his 30's now and entering the prime of his career as a GK. He's also hinted before that he would seek a move away if Spurs can't offer him what he needs. Personally, I think he's been fairly loyal to Spurs, but a top talent like that won't want to stick around if he thinks there's no chance of winning trophies.
Well because the player and his agent also pocket a percentage of the transfer fee. Think its around 10% If Spurs sell him for £10m he only gets to pocket a million If Spurs sell him for £30m he pockets £3m A sale only become more difficult if one of the parties doesnt want to sell. If thats the case, it doesnt matter if he is contracted for one year or 5, if the club doesnt want to sell, then he doesnt get sold.
Doesn't make my anything.... I have no idea if Lloris is leaving Spurs at the end of the season or not, and am not really fussed either way. Am just saying that him signing a new contract doesnt necessarily mean he is staying, its just so Lloris and Spurs can both get more cash out of the buying club when/if he gets sold.
Yeah but he wants to go to a club with proper supporters...seem to remember Wenger wishing Arsenal fans could actually support their team like spurs fans do instead of crying like bitches on Arsenal TV
I wish they'd stop crying like bitches on Arsenal TV too, ****ing embarrassing to be honest. Still, stick a camera in front of any set of fans and you'd get something similar.
It would be highly irregular, I agree No one really knows what Lloris will do. If he is happy at Spurs and is paid a decent amount, he may not give a **** about winning trophies. Look at Cech, he went from a team who wins trophies to a team that doesn't really win all that many at all. Purely because Arsenal offered him a wage he was happy with and he was settled in London and did not want to move, and he wasn't getting first team action at Chelsea. Real Madrid want a new keeper, and by all accounts, their preferred choices, in order are: De Gea Courtois Lloris We may very well lose Courtois to Real at the end of the season, even if we win the PL, so there are no guarantees.
