Just thought i'd drop in and wish you lads all the best for tonight. Your a loyal bunch, who've been through a lot of ****, and i'm sure i ain't alone in saying you'd be worthy of your promotion. Norwich was one of my first ever away game (3-2 defeat for us, some of your older fans may remember Marco Gabbiadini scoring one of the finest goals Carrow Road has ever seen, in glorious sunshine, all 4 sides of the ground applauded it!), although i will say the down side of you coming up is it's a bastard of a place to travel to from up here. All the best lads
I am not sober, and I expect you to be the same very soon Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would be so close to the promised land again. Was expecting Cardiff to do so much better at home. COYY - lets live the dream
Yeah I put down Middlesbrough to get an away win of a 0-2, But I never believed I was going to be close because In my mind I had them down for 1-1 But I was wrong.
Thanks Mackem. We have always regarded Sunderland as Alllies since the Milk Cup Final of 85 and we know we can rely on you, unless we are in dircet competition. In was at the 3-2 and yes, it was a stunner. Good luck for next season but if we come and join you we are hoping for 3 points at the Stadium of Fright (have we lost there yet? don't think so)
Just one thing Mackem, and I'm sure it's new to you, but should you really be talking with your mouth full? - I'll fetch my coat
I wouldn't worry too much about losing at the SOL at the minute mate, there's more chance of me getting a 'sportsmans double' on the go with Kate Middleton and her rather fetching sister. As for the Marco goal, wasn't it just? Looked on youtube to try and post it for your younger lads, a 30 yard, outside of the boot half volley that hit terminal velocity and almost entirely changed direction as it flew in. Pulled us back to 2-2 from 2-0 down, only for us to do the time honoured Sunderland tradition of spunking away a late goal and ending up with nowt. Was a good day none the less, and i'll never forget, even as a 12 year old the fact that we were made to feel welcome and safe all over the city. I'll be backing you all the way tonight, and will look forward to welcoming you next season. Not an easy game for you tonight mind, by any stretch, but if the players are mentally right, that should be enough to push you over the line. canary-dave, mouth full? It's muffdiver, not chopperchomper, ha.
One of the safest away grounds in the country. We love football, not fighting Having said that, as a Canary I have always found Sunderland a safe place to visit too, love the people up in that part of the world - salt of the earth!
Aye, Sunderland is a very safe place for away fans, not only are they welcome in EVERY bar, including the colliery, which is the closest to the stadium, they are positively encouraged to mingle, it's how it should be, and in fairness it's getting that way a lot of places now, which is decent. We don't extend this courtesy to mags mind, on matchdays at least, and the Man City fans were a bunch of ****ers this season, shame, as they used to be a good bunch.
