Due to Sunderland being the worst team in the premier league last season, they get the honour of competing at the very first round of the League Cup/Coca Cola cup/Milk Cup or whatever guise it carries nowadays! Anyone travelling to the match should be aware of the following: http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/...s-on-m62-after-man-fell-from-bridge-1-8696250 Someone has thrown themselves (sorry fell) onto the motorway at Junction 9! Anyhoo Match preview: It's a cup competition which might give the Sunderland boss a chance to blood some youngsters or may give him a chance to give our senior players some more time in the middle.. James Vaughan will hope for a game against his former employers where he did so well last term. As for Bury - well I'm writing this from the top of my head for speed so I know little or nothing about them. @RTB sorry if you're putting one together but thought I would do this for now - will merge and put yours on top if you've got one.
As the match is live on Sky, is there a link anywhere? I used to be **** hot on links, but after half watching and half not towards the end of last season I've got lazy and left behind when it comes to which sites to use.
Commentator on sky "the one thing the Sunderland fans want is, they want graft, they want determination, they want desire" isn't that 3 things?
I'm not sure why the consensus is that Khazri is bound to leave, I don't recall ever hearing any rumours of bids for him and while he's got some quality he doesn't really look like he belongs in the premiership. Don't think he's ever publicly complained either even when Moyes was totally blanking him.
Wait till clubs get down to their 2nd and 3rd choice targets, interest will pick up in him alright. Clubs still playing the long game on their primary targets init.
I've got to say, without jumping the gun, 3rd time I've seen this keeper and he's a worry. He's had little to do but a ooor punch off an easy take. I'll be happy if the Dutchman gets a pop at weekend.
