Leeds set for defensive double swoop. Bristol City duo could be on their way to Elland Road... Leeds United could be set for a double swoop for Bristol City defensive duo Aden Flint and Joe Bryan. Flint, 28, has been linked with Leeds for quite a while now. The centre-half is valued at around £850k and considering he’s contracted at Ashton Gate until 2020, it would probably cost Leeds a hefty fee to bring him to Elland Road. At 6ft 4in he would tower over most Championship players and would provide a very good partner for Pontus Jansson. Bryan, 23, came through the ranks at Bristol City and has made over 150 appearances for the Robins. He played in 44 of Bristol’s 46 Championship games last year scoring once and managing five assists. He is most comfortable playing at left-back but can play left-midfield if needed. He would be a very decent replacement for Charlie Taylor, who left the club this summer to join Burnley. According to Adam Pope, the word from the Bristol end is that both are on their way to Elland Road although as of yet, there has been no official announcement. The duo would certainly strengthen the defensive side of our squad. For me we would then have a squad easily capable of challenging for a Play-Off place, maybe even a top-two finish. Let us know your thoughts, would you be happy if Leeds signed Flint and Bryan? https://www.leedsallover.com/leeds-set-defensive-double-swoop/
I'd wager the author got that figure from here: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bristol-city/startseite/verein/698 I've no idea how they calculate their 'Market Value', but it's not reflective of actual transfer fees across the board. Though I could see Leeds as being an attractive prospect for a lot of Championship players, I'm not convinced this will come to pass, if only because Leeds signed a defender on loan from Everton just the other day.
It would be a real bombshell if they did ... their defence would be looking more like a " Leeds City" one with arguably 3 of our best defensive players forming 75% of it .............
Maybe, if Leeds witnessed Joe Bryans performances at left back last season they would most likely have been underwhelmed ... Except at Leeds his Man of the match performance playing in several positions including left back would have stuck in the mind - Luke Ayling got turned inside and out by Bryan.
In terms of the long-term future of the club and how potential youth prospects see us, Joe Bryan's presence at Bristol City is more important than simply his playing ability imo.
Have you washed yet? Thought I would ask you as people are starting threads to get members to talk on pm
just a load of Leeds waffle, Flint's valuation is rediculous. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image had one of these once, also a 1098 Austin cooper, which I couldn't get a realistic quote for after 10 months, which I swapped for a HA Viva 120MPH TO 70MPH
Ayling was told he probably wouldn't feature much here by our manager.. I still don't trust his player judgement now!
Well he's going to get another chance, somewhat undeserved, to show his mettle and I won't hold my breath until the fat lady sings.
You would not have them for the money suggested. Our manager plays Bryan as left back, that he is not.A winger is his position. Flint is a good championship defender, but we have two others that can take his place easily. Flint gets caught by pace, for me a problem for him at the next level,he would be found out in the prem.
