As for his character, I could totally get that he could come across as a twat, or a complete bastard. Thats maybe what it took to make it in that industry. Some guys never forgot their roots. Others did. I just judge him on his career I've seen over the last 40 years or so in the public forum. I hope you're wrong about the last part though mate. I really do. It would be a really nasty kick in the teeth for his wife of many, many years. No need for her to suffer anymore, now he's gone.
Brucey was way ahead of Ant and Dec mate, Little and Large were funnier than them two mind ! Brucey was around for more than 60 years where will they be then hehe one of them already hooked up on drugs for Christ sake "I have a pain in my knee" and the world attention, look at poor Bradley and other people around the world who need real help who are poor let's talk about them.
I remember him when I was a youngster (I'm 60 +)- he was a real classy entertainer and celebrity who captured an audiences imagination - really sad news
I don't agree with this but I respect your views - we all perceive people in our own way but some just follow others like sheep
Like him or not, Brucey definately was an entertainer . . . . one of the best and most consistent ever, otherwise he wouldn't have 'survived' (at the top) in the business for so many decades. I didn't particularly like him, but I respect what he achieved, with whatever limited talent he had . . . . I can understand why he had so many fans and why so many chose him to present their shows I don't expect any bad things to be revealed about him, either, although I believe that he may well have been 'not so nice' off-stage because I know that this is often a trait of famous, popular, people. Cilla and Jimmy Toothbrush were mentioned earlier, and I remember that my dad said similar things about both of them when he met them (on separate occasions) when he was a taxi driver . . . . ignorant, arrogant twats
I think this is how you appreciate many celebrities as I think many do not live up to their public persona - he lit up many lives and his legacy remains
I said I was pleased and perhaps that was a bit insensitive for some. Just didn't like his routine and persona and am not sorry at his passing.
