RIP to the hardest working man in show business. funny thing is over the last 5 years there's probably been more false reporting of his death than I bet any other British celebrity. This time t's for real.
Looked the part in his tv shows, quite entertaining, but I watched a documentary about him. Seemed a right boring bugger. RIP nevertheless Brucie. Will God be shouting "higher, higher" or will the devil be saying "Bruce Forsyth, come on down?"
Is it just me or does anyone find it strange that all these people have started 'dying off' since Yewtree started. I bet Buenos Aires is bouncing these days
I for one am pleased to see the back of him, a more self centered celebrity TV has ever produced. It was always about him, he had to have his little dance routine or a song or two, couldn't stand the long piece of piss.
That's harsh mate. He was in the right place at the right time when entertainment was moving from the music hall to tv. He was in a niche market and got through that transition when tv was taking over.
Couldn't agree more mate, a man of very limited talent who for some reason is 'a legend'. A poor comedian, poor singer, poor dancer and poor presenter ...... like half of Ant & Dec with a big chin.
But he never claimed to be a comedian Smug. He was an old vaudeville entertainer. From a different era. He suited some, But not others. Like marmite.
He thought he was funny mate and was always 'cracking jokes' which were basically putting people down in a patronising way. You're right though, he just didn't suit me ..... like a daft old uncle who you find a bit embarrassing p.s I'm sure he was billed as a comedian at various points in his career.
He was from a different generation though mate. I totally get where you're coming from though. I partially take my perspective from the older generations on someone's life from their peers and their perspective once the guy had gone. No one I heard today was looking to pull their punches. I also have my own perspective. Purely from 40 years of seeing him on tv and reading about him in the press. All I heard was genuine respect and love for the guy. Many of his generation have been tarnished the last 5 years or so. He wasn't. He was just an old fashioned entertainer for me and I liked that. It maybe reminded me of a childhood I ever quite had. Anyway, getting maudling now so goodnight mate.
Yep, a nasty man, I've met people who have met him and said he's horrible, him and cilla black, horrible folk is what I've been told I half expect yewtrwe to find **** now
Being 'pleased' about this is poor taste IMO. Granted people didn't like him or whatever but to be 'pleased' at his passing is disguising IMO. I'm no fan of his either btw.
