One of Paddy's comments after the Brentford game - "Changing man - Alex Neil made five changes to this starting line up and deployed a rare defensive three that Brentford head coach, Dean Smith, admitted in his post-match interview had caught him out. Neil has often been criticised for his rigid philosophy and inflexible approach. No such charges could be levelled on this occasion. Neil insisted afterwards he is prepared to change things up again. City supporters hope he is a man of his word." I'll wait and see!!!!
The red card on Brady was harsh, but his studs did come up and for that reason I can't see it being overturned or even the number of games Brady is suspended being reduced.
I thought the red was deserved, studs up straight into his stomach, but then so was the later incident involving Naismith, worthy of one to their man.
It was a tough old match, wasn't it, RBF. Very physical at times and the ref wasn't very good. I didn't think he favored one team over the other - he just wasn't very good.
I hope the appeals commission see it your way, O.H. On your second point, I've said it before - we don't look well drilled.
Taken a couple of hours to get the wifi! This is bad. Sat on the arm of a chair, killing me. They are all talking about skiing holidays and starting every single sentence with "sooo..." Urgh... I'd rather be watching that Norwich game.
That's OK FML - ONLY just over 3 hours and you can escape. I've treated myself to a night in on my own with a nice bottle of Argentinian Malbec from Aldi at 14% and I've got the fizz in the fridge for midnight!!!
You are Soooo anti social, sitting in your corner playing on your phone! I suggest loudly proclaiming Trump as the second coming of Jesus and you plan to move to the USA as soon as possible to live in the messiahs new yankie utopia..............and maybe ski in the rockies! Bah!
Who's the all ? Isn't it a bit perverse that we beat Brentford 5 - 0 a few weeks ago and he changes the formation / tactics for this game. Surely it would have made sense to start the game with the same players and formation (as far as possible) that beat Brentford 5 - 0, particularly with Brentford being such a young team. I know I'm a bit dim but if I do something and it works I tend to repeat it, if it doesn't work then I change it. Seems AN works the other way round. The sooner he's sacked the better and we can start building for a promotion challenge next season.
I disagree, but both players were doing the same thing, so surely both players should be dealt with the same. Trouble is Brady didn't roll around on the ground like he'd been shot.
I The thing is they were both out of control of their bodies. It could have gone either way imo. To pick Brady out and not even give the other guy a yellow is just plain weird. You either have to reprimand as both the same or do nothing. The decision to send just Brady off is just wrong.
I agree with both of you, in that they were both going for the ball, but Woods was far closer to achieving that than Brady was. And from what I saw on the tv, whereas Woods didn´t appear to connect with very much Brady, Brady certainly connected with plenty of Woods, which presumably swayed the ref to do what he did. We´ll see whether it´s rebuffed. and canario, as regards the ´all´ - yes, perhaps ´most´ would have been more accurate, but the sentiment remains unaltered.
I am a ref at youth level and if I saw that happen I would have waited to see if both players were able to continue, took advice from my lino's and then probably issued 2 yellow cards. He was far too rash. Got caught up in the moment I think. The officiating for that game was very poor in general though. The moment when both players left the ground is the moment where the offence is committed. What happens after was out of both players control
If as has been stated they should both have received a yellow, then the Brentford player should have received a second yellow for ungentlemanly conduct for rolling around and holding his face as if he'd been shot!
