It was £8m....Levy knew we wanted him and used him as leverage to force our hand on Davies. All we had to do was give Siggy a call and tell him that if he wanted to come back stay put and refuse to leave...tell him there was some extra money in it for him and his agent if he turned down Palace. All Levy's power would have been gone in the deal. He could of either paid us £12-15m for Davies and sold us Siggy for £8m or he could of walked away minus his home-grown left-back and with £8m sitting unhappily in the reserves. If they wanted Vorm we could have used him to knock down the Siggy price. We should have come out of that with Siggy and about £7m in our back pocket. As it stands nobody knows the details of the deal....but I reckon we got bent over again ....and before anyone says, it makes no difference how well Siggy has performed since and whether you think Davies will make it at Spurs or not! The only measure of whether it was a good deal for us or not is whether we received market value for Ben Davies and Vorm and whether we paid the market value for Siggy at the time.
.....Did I tell you Huw and I are best of friends? 2 Skewen boys growing up about the same time, going to the same schools, though he is a bit younger than me, so there's one for starters, actually I got lots of friends and most brighter than you.........
Have the Eredivisie club had their 30 per cent so-called sell-on transfer fee yet? gone very quite from them. As Huw stated Unlike some countries abroad, we do not have third party ownership of players in Britain. Did we actually sell him for free? gone very quite on this has the Dutch club? Some media outlets had the deal at £5 Million while most quoted £3.5 Million, which is probably more closer to the mark, anyway Huw Jenkins strikes again aye............
Didn't we have £3.5 Million on top of Siggy? I stand corrected as I am going on memory here, mind I could google it, but if my memory serves me correct, then the way I see it is that we wanted Siggy they wanted Ben Davies who we valued at 10-12 Million, so it looked to me that we did a straight swap and the £3.5 Million was for Vorm, justing thinking out loud like, mind I think you have been playing Football manager on your Xbox for far too long, your in fantasy land there mate.........
Just googled and yes Siggy was a straight swap for Ben Davies, great deal that again in my view, there's no beating Huw Jenkins the mans a legend........... Link:http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/21/gylfi-sigurdsson-tottenham-hotspur-swansea Link: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ben-davies-michel-vorm-move-7493345
A sell on clause would more than likely be there in the contract in my view knowing Huw..............
Stop sulking will you I have posted two links read them and educate yourself, goodness knows your in need of it.......
I have posted 2 links 1 from the Guardian and 1 from WalesOnline, though there are many more out there, educate yourself with them, man I feel like teacher......
Neither of these links say anything about the value of the deal or any particular player, or how the deal was structured. Put the glass of beer down and let your head clear.
You just be grateful for those jet lag trips from the big apple to watch the mighty Swans strut they're stuff...........
Last but one paragraph, come now Yankee the point I'm making is that we did a straight swap Davies for Siggy the surplus £3.5 Million was for Vorm...............
There is no official source quoted in that link. The club ha not disclosed the terms of the deal except to governing bodies.
