Draws against Bradford, Sheffield Scunthorpe and now Bolton rather suggests we are close to being a good side in this league especially as we should have beaten Scunthorpe and from what I have read Bolton tonight
I think it shows we are a good side, and well capable of competing with the top sides. And it shows how far we've come, that we've improved and that our results should be better during the run in. We've had some really tough games and come through them unbeaten, which is fantastic given our worries about the defence. Now that DC has sorted out the defensive side of things I'm sure we can have a good go at the playoffs.
Yep, agree with that Gastro, pick up a few wins from now on in and we could sneak in through the back door, still some hard encounters on the horizon but exciting times ahead nonetheless.
goal more in the last 6 games would put us on 60 points in 4th place with a small plus GD the margins of success are very fine in this division 5 of those teams are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10th and we appear from the home games I saw and reports of the away games I read that Scunthorpe and Bolton were games we should have won Bradford and Sheffield draws were I think fair results. This fills me with optimism for the rest of the season and with the right additions a recipe for success for next season
Great post My only issue is that against teams below us, we struggle to break them down. Port Vale for example.
Totally agree with that CJS but one of the right additions would be a quality striker, I also see and read that a lot penalty decisions are going against us and that isn't helping either but I repeat what I said that with the right additions we can get promotion next season
I think the tough games over the past few weeks have probably helped us step up a gear. We usually end the season strongly and looking at the fixture list, I can see a good run coming up...hopefully...which should push us into the playoffs.
