I'm banned from the Arsenal board like so I'll do it here.

Typical Wenger not meeting anywhere near the price tag.

isnt cahill in the last year of his contract?

i'd say £10m is a fair price for both clubs given this fact. remember if gartside starts demanding silly money then its quite possible he will go on a free transfer next season <ok>

remember this isnt man city bidding, if bolton are prepared to let him go they have to be realistic.

well thats not far off what is in my view, a fair price for a decent player in the last year of his contract. £6m is cheap for what is a good english centre back, when you compare how much for instance, jagielka would go for (£15m?).

however, for that sort of fee bolton would probably be best of sticking to their guns and waiting for a higher offer, and keeping what is a important player for them for one year, and helping them stay in the league again.

newspapers post all sorts of rubbish, and Arsenal always keep their transfer's quiet. Although i agree the fee is probably too low, i'd be hesitant to believe any of the newspapers, and expect it to be around £8m - £10m. remember, we are not man city, and even if we have enough money, that is a lot to be put to waste, so wenger will not pay over the odds for cahill. £17m is way too much for a mid-table team defender who is in the last year of his contract and not an international regular. i expect the final price, if the transfer happens to be around £12m.

If Cahill is worth 10 million Shawcross must have a price tag of 20 million and how Cahill is in the England squad over Shawcross is beyond me. Bolton league and Cup this season so far shipped 12 goals. Stoke in more games 2. Ok we have yet to play Man City and Man U but we have kept a clean sheet against Chelsea and Liverpool. Wake up Capello!!!

It's because our LB has the quality of Wayne Bridge or lower.

You haven't played against Man Utd yet.

I think the England manager has better knowledge of who is the better CB, and I think people prefer Cahill to Shawcross. If this was not the case, then Shawcross would be playing matches, not Cahill.

Rory we have Man U next home game and I bet they struggle to beat us. We are solid in defence at the moment and they will not have it all their own way at the Brit. Fergie will probably swap a few things around too. They always just about scrape a win against us but we have a better side this season so who knows!

PS Crapello does not know his arse from his elbow ;-)
