Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean is considering placing a new bid for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane after his £2 million opening offer was turned down.

The Spurs forward has been told he can leave by manager Harry Redknapp. But after a proposed £6 million move to West Ham collapsed due to their relegation, both player and club need to strike a new deal that suits them both.

The intention had been for Keane to join the Hammers on a permanent basis after his six-month loan, but that is no longer financially viable to the Upton Park side nor appealing to Keane.

Spurs know they are unlikely to get £6 million from the new deal, but they are hoping for considerably more than the £2 million offered by Rovers.

Senior figures at the club have dismissed the bid as derisory and made it clear they will only listen to offers above £4 million.

Blackburn’s Indian owners, Venkys, have given Kean £20 million to boost his squad. The Scot is wary of using too much of that on a gamble to resurrect Keane's career, which has been on a downward trajectory since his £20.3 million move to Liverpool in 2008.

But the manager does believe the Republic of Ireland international can add key experience to his strikeforce.

The ex-Coventry, Inter Milan and Leeds man is eager for first-team football to boost a possible international swansong at Euro 2012.

Spurs never sell their players at realistic prices they will lose the difference in his wages if they dont off loan him soon.I think he is probably worth 2 million and would do ok in the Chapionship but he isn't up to the Premiership now.
