Premier League clubs to discuss closing the Transfer Window prior to the beginning of the season. There's some disadvantage against other European clubs but otherwise it's a no brainer for those clubs who don't have unlimited resources, isn't it? I'm sure that Swansea and Liverpool would rather not have started the season with their best players trying to get the hell out of their respective clubs.
It's a farce. If a transfer window is a good idea, then having the first few weeks of the season part of it makes no sense. Van Dijk, Sigurdsson and Coutinho are proof enough of that. It just brings the game into disrepute. I'd scrap the January window too.
Everton and Sunderland have arranged a celebrity charity match for the Bradley Lowery Foundation: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-40936212 Good to see some good coming out of such unfortunate circumstances.
For some strange reason, the BBC website is reliving Sheff Utd v Manchester Utd (and nine other fixtures) from 1992 - minute by minute. Apparently, these were the first football matches ever played anywhere ever in the world ever. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/40780204
You're still pissed about conceding the first goal and losing, aren't you? "A few Manchester United players surround the ref. No, honestly..."
I think that's just because he reffed him at some point, to be honest! No stranger to dismissals, regardless of how good he was.
