Looks like India will be joining Pakistan in the final. Should be a great atmosphere, although obviously I'd have liked England to be there. And in other news, another totally pointless money match in boxing was finalised. I can't think of a single reason to want to watch it. Anyone?
Plenty of people will watch it just for the people involved and the unique nature of the fight. I can't see it being vaguely competitive though, unfortunately. The only way that McGregor has a chance is if Mayweather's utterly complacent. That's just not who he is. He'll take no chances, train hard and do enough to win every round, as usual. The bookies will make a killing on this one, as will the fighters.
Is it ratified by a boxing association? I can't see how, morally, they can do that. The sports aren't interchangeable, putting a novice in with a champion.
Why are the opposition players getting upset? If he'd done that deliberately, then it would've been an absolutely ridiculously good shot.
Here's a few other notable names from the list... Dzeko - 29 Lewandowski - 27 Aubameyang - 25 Suarez - 20 Ibrahimovic - 18
Other than the red sponsor, I really like them. Don't have a problem with the shield either, to be honest. Thoughts?
Really like the away kit and overall design of the home kit. I always prefer smart n simple over some of the ridiculously complicated designs you get these days (hated the 'seatbelt' kit of 2 seasons ago. Cf. the new Liverpool tea towe- sorry, I mean 'kit', for another example of this.) The drawback of the uncomplicated design is that the redness of the sponsor stands out more, which is damn annoying.
I agree about simplicity. It makes up for the red sponsor, IMO. The shield is a bit taboo for many fans, but again, I think it's great. Reminds me of the 61 kit. I haven't bought a spurs shirt in over 6 years, as there's not been 1 design I've liked, home or away. Thank **** there's no more under armour designs. The only concern could be the price? What's all this $165 in the tweet?!
Demolition job by Pakistan. In an era where big hitting batsmen dominate, they did it by bowling superbly throughout.
I like them replica kits if they are official...might bag the away one for my son, but I don't like the shield..why is it difficult to make it like it's supposed to be?
Erik Lamela has posted a Father's Day message on Instagram, revealing that he's going to be one himself. Congratulations to him and his missus. They're calling the child Tobias, apparently. No news on whether this was down to Alderweireld's contract negotiations, yet.
Levy is waiting on confirmation on whether Lamela's other half went on top, thus reducing the potential damage to his already-mullered hip.
So all English speakers spoke with the rhotic accent until the late 18th century. This is where the speaker emphasises the hard "r" sound in words. This is still prevalent in most U.S. accents as well as Canadian Scottish, Irish and in the South West and West Lancashire areas of England - as well as other areas such as Barbados. The non- rhotic accent is common everywhere else. This is because in the late 18th century the wealthy wanted to distinguish their accents from the lower classes so they dropped the hard "r" sound from their pronunciation. This occurred predominantly in the south of England. Received pronunciation was born. There is no point to this - except that one's wife is watching "Jamestown" and Sky haven't paid much attention to how the settlers would have spoken. There was no upper class English accent then. So to Sky
When I was in school I had a teacher from North Wales who could roll her r's in words that didn't even have r's in them. Genuinely used to sound like a lawnmower, and that's not even streching it. Imagine scouse meets hedge strimmer. She was a terrifying woman who left Wales for Patagonia in the late sixties and was missing two fingers.
The Lions were beaten but put up one hell of a performance for a scratch side. New Zealand are just too good right now. Given a year or two to prepare The Lions might be able to beat them...... maybe, in one test in NZ. Given two years preparation and home advantage we might win a series.
